Product info about Chateau Berliquet 2022
Château Berliquet 2022 is a French Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from an estate on the western slope of Saint-Émilion. Its vineyard covers around 10 contiguous hectares, positioned between limestone plateau and clay slopes, giving this right-bank Bordeaux a clear sense of place.The blend is 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc. That relatively strong share of Cabernet Franc reflects the estate's vineyard restructuring and brings extra lift, spice and structure around the riper Merlot fruit. Berliquet works parcel by parcel, using small vats so that separate lots can be vinified and followed individually.
The 2022 vintage at Berliquet was shaped by a mild, dry winter, spring frost nights, a dry spring and a warm, dry summer. The estate chose not to irrigate, despite being allowed to do so, and two August storms helped the final phase of ripening. The wine was aged for 16 months in the château's underground limestone quarries, in oak barrels of which 44% were new, alongside eight amphorae.
