Château de la Tour Clos Vougeot Cuvée Classique Grand Cru 2020 comes from one of Burgundy's most closely followed grand cru sites: Clos de Vougeot in the Côte de Nuits. Château de la Tour holds around 5.5 hectares within the walls of the clos, making it the largest owner in this celebrated vineyard.
The Cuvée Classique is the château's main cuvée. It is drawn from several parcels belonging to the estate in Clos de Vougeot, with the different lots vinified and matured separately before the final blend is made shortly before bottling. Château de la Tour Clos Vougeot Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru 2020 is a red, dry Burgundy rooted in one of the Côte de Nuits' most clearly defined sites: the walled Grand Cru vineyard of Clos de Vougeot. Made from pinot noir, it comes from a domaine based within the Clos itself and described as one of the largest single owners in this Grand Cru.
The Vieilles Vignes cuvée focuses on the domaine's old vines, with vintage information referring to vines of at least around 80 years of age. The grapes are organically grown, with biodynamic practices also noted in the vineyard. For 2020, the winemaking included a substantial proportion of whole bunches, native-yeast fermentation, maturation in oak casks and bottling without fining or filtration.

Maison Charlopin Tissier Marsannay Clos Dy Roy Blanc 2019 is a white Burgundy from Marsannay in the Côte de Nuits. That origin gives the wine much of its interest: Marsannay is firmly part of the Côte de Nuits identity, yet the appellation is also able to produce white wines. Made from Chardonnay and linked to a named climat, this bottle speaks more about place than about a broad, anonymous style.
Maison Charlopin Tissier is based in Morey-Saint-Denis and was founded in 2013 by Yann Charlopin and Justine Tissier. The estate works with a modest vineyard holding in Burgundy, including parcels in Marsannay, Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Vosne-Romanée and Pernand-Vergelesses. The vineyard approach is described as biologically oriented, although not (…)
