Hayman's Gently Rest Gin
In stock
Hayman's Gently Rest Gin shows gin from a softer, lightly wood-influenced angle. Fresh juniper remains at the centre, while subtle oak notes add a calmer, rounder dimension.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a gin for drinkers who enjoy classic juniper character but are curious about extra depth. The gentle cask influence brings in a warmer side, with impressions of dried fruit, vanilla and spice woven around the gin's botanical core.
At 41.3% alcohol, it has enough presence to carry that richer texture while keeping its smooth, composed style. A thoughtful choice when you want gin with a little more softness and wood-toned character.

Hayman's Royal Dock Navy Strength
In stock
Hayman's Royal Dock Navy Strength is a British gin with a firmly stated character. At 57% alcohol, it sits in a powerful, full-bodied style where juniper, citrus and spice come through with real clarity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of gin we would place in front of someone looking for intensity rather than restraint. The higher strength brings warmth and depth, while the flavour remains recognisably gin-led: juniper at the core, citrus for lift and a spiced edge that gives it extra drive.
Royal Dock Navy Strength feels appropriately robust in the glass. It is direct, concentrated and unapologetically full in flavour, using its strength to carry the botanicals with conviction.

Hayman's Sloe Gin
Temporarily sold out
Expected: 27/10/2026Hayman's Sloe Gin shows a softer, fruit-led side of British gin. The character is built around sloe berries, with wild berry notes and a gentle touch of juniper keeping the gin identity present without pushing the fruit into the background.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would introduce to someone who enjoys gin but wants a rounder and more berry-driven style. It has a naturally inviting feel, carried by candied red fruit and a smooth, fruity finish.
At 26% alcohol, Hayman's Sloe Gin comes across as milder in strength, allowing the sweet fruit character and soft balance to take centre stage. More information about the brand can be found at https://www.haymansgin.com/

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most frequently asked questions about gin
What is gin?
Gin is a spirit distilled from neutral alcohol, to which juniper and other botanicals (herbs, spices and fruits) are added. Juniper berry is mandatory: without it, it cannot officially be called gin.
What is the difference between gin and gin?
Although they are related, there is a distinct difference. Jenever is the traditional Dutch/Belgian variety, often malty and fuller in flavour. Gin is lighter, fresher and mostly more focused on herbs and citrus.
What types of gin are there?
- London Dry Gin: the most classic and sleek style, with no added sugars.
- Plymouth Gin: a protected designation of origin, a little softer and earthier.
- Old Tom Gin: slightly sweeter, often used in historic cocktails.
- New Western or Contemporary Gin: more modern style in which juniper is less dominant and other botanicals play the main role.
How strong is gin?
Usually between 37.5% and 47% alcohol, depending on brand and style.
Where does gin originally come from?
Its roots are in the Low Countries, with gin being its forerunner. British soldiers took the idea to England, where gin became a huge hype in the 18th century.
What are botanicals?
These are the herbs, spices and fruits that give gin its flavour. Besides juniper, you often see coriander seed, angelica root, citrus peel, cinnamon, cardamom, lavender and more.
What gin do you use for a gin tonic?
It depends on your taste. A classic London Dry goes well with a neutral tonic, while a more floral gin can shine with a spicy or fruity tonic. Garnish (lemon, cucumber, rosemary, ...) finishes it off.
Which gin is suitable for drinking pure?
More and more premium gins are smooth and complex enough to drink pure or with a little ice. New Western styles and special cask-aged gins are particularly interesting to taste this way.
What is the difference between gin and vodka?
Both are neutral distillates, but with gin, botanicals are co-distilled or added, giving the drink much more flavour and character.
What is pink gin?
This is gin that has a pink colour, usually due to the addition of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, rhubarb, ...). Often also slightly sweeter in taste and popular in refreshing mixed drinks.
How do you use gin in cocktails?
Gin is hugely versatile and can be used for much more than just a gin & tonic. Well-known cocktails include the Negroni, Martini, Tom Collins, French 75 and Aviation.
The spicy base of gin makes it pair well with citrus, bitters and sparkling wine.
