Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc shows Marlborough in a very recognisable way: bright, aromatic and driven by crisp citrus freshness, with ripe fruit held in check by a clean, saline edge. Much of the fruit comes from vineyards on the Wairau Valley floor, where free-draining gravelly soils play an important role in shaping this Sauvignon Blanc style.
Most of the fermentation takes place in stainless steel, keeping the wine focused and expressive. A small part of the blend is treated differently, with fermentation in oak and some wild yeast influence, adding texture and extra depth without taking away the wine's lively, citrus-led identity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a white wine with real gastronomic appeal. It sits beautifully alongside seafood, (…)Cloudy Bay Chardonnay

Cloudy Bay Chardonnay

Cloudy Bay Chardonnay shows a broader, more textured side of Marlborough. The wine brings together fruit from several vineyards, selected for the way their soils complement each other. The warmer, stony soils of the Wairau Valley contribute ripeness, while the cooler clay soils of the Southern Valleys help keep the wine poised and elegant.
After gentle pressing, the juice is transferred to French oak barriques and larger vessels, followed by 11 months of maturation before blending. There is a measured use of new oak, giving the wine depth without pushing the fruit into the background. Malolactic fermentation adds roundness and texture, while the wine retains a clear line of freshness.

Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir

Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir shows a particularly thoughtful side of Marlborough. The fruit comes from selected Pinot Noir vineyards in the South Wairau Valley, including the notable Barracks vineyard, where old alluvial gravel and dense clay help shape the wine's depth, freshness and fruit expression.
The winemaking is gentle and deliberate. Fruit is moved by gravity into open fermenters, with a small whole-bunch component and extended skin contact. Ageing for 11 months in French oak, partly new, adds structure and quiet support rather than pushing the wine into an overtly oak-led style.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of New Zealand Pinot Noir we like to introduce to customers who want clarity of origin as well as charm in the glass: juicy fruit, fine (…)Cloudy Bay Te Koko Sauvignon Blanc

Cloudy Bay Te Koko Sauvignon Blanc
In stock
Cloudy Bay Te Koko Sauvignon Blanc shows a more layered side of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Rather than focusing only on immediate aromatic brightness, Te Koko is shaped through barrel fermentation, indigenous yeasts and time on fine lees, giving this dry white wine a broader texture and a more savoury feel.
The fruit comes from the Wairau Valley, from older vines grown on warm, free-draining gravel soils. Recent producer information mentions Motukawa, Widow's Block, Estate and Brook Street among the vineyard sources for Te Koko. French oak barrels, large wooden cuves, concrete and later stainless steel all play a role in building a style that is less about pure primary fruit and more about depth, tension and mouthfeel.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we like Te (…)Craggy Range Aroha Pinot Noir 2020

Craggy Range Aroha Pinot Noir 2020
In stock
Craggy Range Aroha Pinot Noir 2020 is a New Zealand red wine from Martinborough, grown at the Te Muna Road Vineyard. Within the Craggy Range portfolio, Aroha sits in the Prestige Collection and is made from selected Pinot Noir parcels on the estate-owned vineyard. The name Aroha means love in te reo Mori, a fitting name for a wine built around careful parcel selection and a strong sense of place.
The fruit comes from higher, older terraces with a narrow layer of clay over stony soils. For the 2020 release, the Pinot Noir vines were more than twenty years old. The season began wet up to Christmas, followed by a dry and warm ripening period, with all grapes hand-picked between 20 and 24 March.
In the cellar, Craggy Range used 70% whole bunches and 30% destemmed (…)Craggy Range Aroha Pinot Noir 2021

Craggy Range Aroha Pinot Noir 2021 is a dry red wine from Martinborough, New Zealand, grown in the Te Muna Road Vineyard. As part of Craggy Range's Prestige Collection, Aroha is built around selected Pinot Noir parcels from the estate, with a clear focus on tannin quality, length and a measured balance between power and refinement.
The 2021 vintage gained its concentration from low yields. A cold, wet spring reduced the crop, followed by a warm summer that pushed ripening forward. The fruit was entirely hand-harvested, drawn from carefully chosen Pinot Noir blocks, including sites with a narrow layer of clay over stony soils.
In the winery, the detail continues: 32% whole bunches, indigenous yeasts, fermentation in open stainless steel tanks and French oak (…)Craggy Range Le Sol Syrah 2020

Craggy Range Le Sol Syrah 2020

Craggy Range Le Sol Syrah 2020 is a red wine from Hawke's Bay in New Zealand, more precisely from Gimblett Gravels. The name Le Sol means the soil, and that meaning matters here: the wine comes from the stoniest parcels of Craggy Range's own Gimblett Gravels Estate.
Made from 100% Syrah, the 2020 vintage was hand-harvested in April after a warm, dry season. Craggy Range used indigenous yeasts, a significant proportion of whole bunches, and 17 months of maturation in French oak barriques, part of them new. The result is a Syrah shaped by fruit depth, savoury spice and the firm, stony structure associated with its origin.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to place in front of customers who are curious about serious New Zealand Syrah. (…)Craggy Range Le Sol Syrah 2021

Craggy Range Le Sol Syrah 2021 is a red wine from Hawke's Bay in New Zealand, grown in the Gimblett Gravels vineyard. The name Le Sol means the soil, and in this case that detail matters: the Syrah comes from especially stony parcels, where free-draining gravels absorb warmth during the day and help the grapes ripen.
The 2021 vintage gave Craggy Range a very warm spring, a mild summer, few rainy days and low yields. The wine is made from 100% hand-harvested Syrah, fermented with indigenous yeasts, with part whole-bunch and part destemmed fruit. It then spent 17 months in French and Austrian oak barriques and puncheons, with a measured proportion of new oak.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to point out when someone wants to see how (…)
