Octomore 14.1 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich with a very direct sense of power. Bottled at cask strength at 59.6%, it places peat firmly at the centre, supported by a clearly salty side that gives the whisky a strong island identity.
Distilled in 2017 and matured for 5 years in a bourbon barrel, this release is not presented as a wood-driven whisky. The available flavour profile gives oak little emphasis, so the focus stays on peat intensity, salinity and the energy of a young cask-strength single malt.
