Carruades De Lafite 2021
On request only
Carruades de Lafite 2021 is the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, yet it has a clear identity of its own. The name comes from the plateau des Carruades, a group of parcels closely associated with the estate in Pauillac. The vineyards lie in the northern part of the appellation, near Saint-Estèphe, on deep, well-draining fine gravel soils.
For Lafite, 2021 was a more moderate vintage than the warmer years before it. That sense of restraint runs through the style described for this wine: fresh, compact, structured and precise. The blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with Merlot from the south-eastern plateau and young vines from carefully selected parcels playing an important role.

Carruades de Lafite 2021 is the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, from Pauillac in the Médoc. This demi bottle of 37.5 cl offers the same Bordeaux in a smaller, more flexible format, well suited to a careful tasting or a dinner where a full bottle is not needed.
For the 2021 vintage, the estate carried out a notably strict selection. The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Carruades de Lafite has its own identity within Château Lafite Rothschild, historically linked to the Plateau des Carruades and the vineyards around the château.
The wine was made using traditional Bordeaux methods in wooden, concrete and stainless steel vats, with gentle pump-overs adjusted to each vat. It (…)Carruades De Lafite 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Carruades de Lafite 2021 is the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild from Pauillac in Bordeaux. This is the same wine presented in magnum, a 1.5-litre format that suits a table where the bottle is meant to be shared and followed over time.
For the 2021 vintage, the selection for Carruades was especially strict. The blend brings together cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot, with merlot drawn in part from important terroirs on the south-eastern plateau, close to parcels used for the grand vin. Young vines, harvested separately within top parcels, also played a meaningful role in the final blend.
The winemaking follows traditional Bordeaux lines: fermentation in wooden, concrete and stainless-steel vats, gentle pump-overs and (…)Carruades De Lafite 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Carruades de Lafite 2022 Demi is the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, presented here in a 37.5 cl half bottle. That format gives a very approachable way to explore a serious Pauillac without opening a full bottle.
Carruades de Lafite has its own identity within the Lafite Rothschild estate. The 2022 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, with a substantial share of merlot, supported by cabernet franc and petit verdot. The merlot component and the specific parcels used for Carruades help set it apart within the estate's range.
The 2022 growing season was demanding, with frost alerts in April, heavy rain in June and then a long dry, warm period. Harvest began on 1 September in good conditions. In the cellar, the wine follows the estate's traditional (…)Chateau Clerc Milon 2020

Château Clerc Milon 2020 is the grand vin of Château Clerc Milon, a red Bordeaux from Pauillac in the Médoc. Its position as a 1855 Cinquième Grand Cru Classé gives it historical weight, but the wine is equally defined by its place: gravel, sand and clay-limestone soils near the Gironde, with careful parcel selection at the estate.
The 2020 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and a small proportion of Carmenère. That Carmenère is worth mentioning, as Château Clerc Milon has old plantings of the variety, giving the wine a detail that feels very specific to this estate.

Château Clerc Milon 2020 Demi is the grand vin of Château Clerc Milon in Pauillac, offered here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. The estate is a 5ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, and the 2020 vintage is built around a classic Bordeaux blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and a small proportion of Carmenère.
The wine comes from 41 hectares of vineyards, largely on the Mousset hill overlooking the Gironde. That setting is part of its identity: deep gravel for Cabernet Sauvignon, more clay-rich slopes for Merlot and limestone-influenced parcels for Cabernet Franc. The Gironde helps moderate temperature and air flow, particularly relevant in a warm, early year such as 2020.

Château Clerc Milon 2020 Magnum is a red Pauillac from the Médoc and the first wine of Château Clerc Milon. The 2020 vintage carries added meaning for the estate. It marks 50 years of Château Clerc Milon within the Baron Philippe de Rothschild family, celebrated with a special label featuring an arc of 50 stars around the two dancers. At Drankenshop Broekmans, details like this matter because they connect the wine not only to Pauillac, but also to a precise moment in the château's own history.

Château Croizet-Bages 2022 is a red Pauillac from the Médoc and the grand vin of a property listed as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. Its identity is closely tied to the Plateau de Bages, where deep gravel and sandy gravel soils underpin a blend led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot and a small proportion of petit verdot.
The 2022 vintage at the estate was shaped by early heat and a long dry period. What makes the wine interesting is that the producer still points to fruit, freshness and refined tannins in the final result. Parcel-by-parcel vinification in stainless steel and twelve months in French oak barriques, half of them new, support a Pauillac style built on dark fruit, cedar, spice and firm structure.

It is the grand vin of Château d'Armailhac, part of the Rothschild family's Pauillac estates, and the blend is firmly rooted in the Médoc tradition: Cabernet Sauvignon in the lead, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small share of Petit Verdot.
The château describes 2021 as a more classical, fresh and balanced vintage with structure. The growing season asked for precision, with a wet and mild winter, cool and humid periods in spring and early summer, then drier weather in August and early September that helped the vineyard recover and supported the development of tannins and fruit aromas. The 2016 blend is 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot. It was a hot, very dry summer, with rain in mid-September helping the grapes continue their ripening under favourable conditions. The 2020 blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot. The fruit comes from the Château Duhart-Milon vineyard in Pauillac, on the Milon hill near the Carruades de Lafite plateau, where fine gravel, aeolian sand and tertiary limestone form part of the vineyard identity. The blend is led decisively by cabernet sauvignon: 81%, with 19% merlot. For Duhart-Milon, that merlot share is historically low, and it gives this vintage a firm cabernet identity. The drier gravel soils were especially favourable in 2021, bringing the wine towards precision, freshness and structure rather than broad opulence.
