Château Léoville Barton 2015 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien in the Médoc, and the grand vin of a château classified as a Second Growth in 1855. The 2015 blend is led very firmly by Cabernet Sauvignon, with 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot, placing it squarely in the Left Bank tradition of structure, dark fruit and cellar-worthy depth.Its vineyard setting matters. The vines grow on Garonne gravel with clay beneath, facing the Gironde, a combination that supports both drainage and firmness in the wine. The grapes were harvested by hand, vinified parcel by parcel in temperature-controlled wooden vats, and matured for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of them new.
