Château Clerc Milon 2020 is the grand vin of Château Clerc Milon, a red Bordeaux from Pauillac in the Médoc. Its position as a 1855 Cinquième Grand Cru Classé gives it historical weight, but the wine is equally defined by its place: gravel, sand and clay-limestone soils near the Gironde, with careful parcel selection at the estate.The 2020 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and a small proportion of Carmenère. That Carmenère is worth mentioning, as Château Clerc Milon has old plantings of the variety, giving the wine a detail that feels very specific to this estate.
The 2020 vintage was an early one, producing ripe fruit, freshness and firm yet integrated tannins. Eighteen months in French oak barriques, 55% of them new, adds structure, cedar notes and spice to the dark-fruited Pauillac frame.
