Flavour notes
The wine has a lively red colour and opens with a ripe yet fresh aromatic expression, led by blackberry and cassis. Further notes include black cherry, plum, red and black berries, raspberry, violet, cedar, graphite, pencil shavings, tobacco, leather, liquorice, clove and mint.On the palate, Carruades de Lafite 2021 begins with energy before moving into a dense, generous structure. The tannins gain strength without becoming aggressive, supported by fresh acidity and a juicy fruit core. The finish is long, taut and harmonious, showing the compact tension of a wine still in its youth.

Product info about Carruades De Lafite 2021 Demi (37,5cl)
Carruades de Lafite 2021 is the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, from Pauillac in the Médoc. This demi bottle of 37.5 cl offers the same Bordeaux in a smaller, more flexible format, well suited to a careful tasting or a dinner where a full bottle is not needed. For the 2021 vintage, the estate carried out a notably strict selection. The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Carruades de Lafite has its own identity within Château Lafite Rothschild, historically linked to the Plateau des Carruades and the vineyards around the château.
The wine was made using traditional Bordeaux methods in wooden, concrete and stainless steel vats, with gentle pump-overs adjusted to each vat. It then matured for around 16 months in French oak barrels from the Tonnellerie des Domaines in Pauillac. The estate noted that the wine was still closed on release and would benefit from further development.
Within the Bordeaux selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this half bottle stands out for combining the Lafite signature with a very practical serving size. As these are last bottles, it is especially relevant for Pauillac drinkers who appreciate precision, structure and the possibility of following a wine as it opens with age.
The wine has a lively red colour and opens with a ripe yet fresh aromatic expression, led by blackberry and cassis. Further notes include black cherry, plum, red and black berries, raspberry, violet, cedar, graphite, pencil shavings, tobacco, leather, liquorice, clove and mint.
On the palate, Carruades de Lafite 2021 begins with energy before moving into a dense, generous structure. The tannins gain strength without becoming aggressive, supported by fresh acidity and a juicy fruit core. The finish is long, taut and harmonious, showing the compact tension of a wine still in its youth.

About CH LAFITE ROTHSCHILD
Château Lafite Rothschild is one of the most renowned wineries from Bordeaux, France, with a history dating back to at least the 17th century. The estate is located in the wine region of Pauillac in the Medoc and belongs to the so-called Premier Cru Classé according to the famous 1855 classification, a distinction granted to only a few châteaux. The winery has been owned by the Rothschild family since the 19th century, who still play a leading role in the company and are internationally active in the wine world to this day. Château Lafite Rothschild is recognized worldwide for its red wines, made from grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. These wines are known for their refinement, balance, and ability to age for many decades. Due to limited production and prestigious character, the wines of Lafite Rothschild are sought after by collectors, auction houses, and lovers of classic Bordeaux. The estate combines traditional winemaking techniques with modern insights, with respect for the terroir and quality taking top priority.
