Chateau Pedesclaux 2022 is the estate's grand vin from Pauillac, not Fleur de Pedesclaux. It is a dry red Bordeaux blend from Pauillac AOC, produced by a château classified as a 5ème Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification.The 2022 vintage places cabernet sauvignon firmly at the centre of the wine, making up 68% of the blend alongside merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. The vineyard is described as 52 hectares spread over 19 terroirs, with Garonne gravel over limestone. That setting underpins the wine's dark fruit concentration, firm Pauillac structure and mineral edge.
This vintage also marks an important step for Chateau Pedesclaux: 2022 was the first organically certified vintage and the first grand vin to be fully vinified by gravity. The grapes were harvested by hand and selected carefully, with cellar work carried out without pumps, gentle extraction and 17 months of ageing in barriques, 65% of them new.

Chateau Pedesclaux is a wine estate in the French Bordeaux region, located in the renowned Pauillac appellation, north of the city of Bordeaux. The chateau was founded in 1810 and belongs to the so-called Cinquièmes Grands Crus Classés in the 1855 classification, which means it is officially recognized as one of the fifth-group top wines from the region. The vineyards are situated on gravel-rich soils that are typical for Pauillac and favorably contribute to the quality of the grapes, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and to a lesser extent Petit Verdot. Chateau Pedesclaux was known for many years as a modest estate, but has undergone a significant quality boost due to modernization, among other things since the takeover by Jacky Lorenzetti in 2009. The winery combines traditional techniques with modern vinification and in recent years has devoted much attention to sustainable viticulture. The wines of Pedesclaux are generally distinguished by their elegant structure and balanced expression of fruit, power and freshness, which makes them representative of the character of Pauillac.
