Fleur De Pedesclaux 2022 is the second wine of Château Pedesclaux in Pauillac, made from the same estate as the grand vin but shaped as a more approachable expression of its terroir. The 2022 blend is 49% merlot, 46% cabernet sauvignon and 5% petit verdot, giving the wine a fruit-led side while keeping the firm, structured line associated with Pauillac.The 2022 vintage was warm and dry, producing small berries and strong concentration. At the same time, the estate highlights balance and freshness in the wine. This was also Château Pedesclaux's first vintage with organic certification in the vineyard. With 35% new oak, the ageing supports the dark fruit, cocoa and spice notes without being described as dominant.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we like to present when someone wants Pauillac character with a slightly more open and supple personality than the grand vin. It has the structure to benefit from further bottle ageing, while young bottles can gain from decanting to let the aromas unfold and the tannins settle.

About CH PEDESCLAUX
Chateau Pedesclaux is a wine estate in the French Bordeaux region, located in the renowned Pauillac appellation, north of the city of Bordeaux. The chateau was founded in 1810 and belongs to the so-called Cinquièmes Grands Crus Classés in the 1855 classification, which means it is officially recognized as one of the fifth-group top wines from the region. The vineyards are situated on gravel-rich soils that are typical for Pauillac and favorably contribute to the quality of the grapes, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and to a lesser extent Petit Verdot. Chateau Pedesclaux was known for many years as a modest estate, but has undergone a significant quality boost due to modernization, among other things since the takeover by Jacky Lorenzetti in 2009. The winery combines traditional techniques with modern vinification and in recent years has devoted much attention to sustainable viticulture. The wines of Pedesclaux are generally distinguished by their elegant structure and balanced expression of fruit, power and freshness, which makes them representative of the character of Pauillac.
