Flavour notes
The aroma brings together black plum, dark cherry, cassis, blueberry, blackberry and redcurrant, with floral notes of violet and rose petal. Beneath the fruit there are layers of liquorice, clove, tobacco, incense, truffle, dark chocolate, graphite, wet stone and slate. On the palate it is medium to full in body, with lively acidity and fine to powdery tannins. A firm core of fruit is supported by earthy and mineral accents, giving the wine definition and tension. The finish is long, spicy and focused, combining a dark, compact feel with real freshness.

Product info about Chateau L'eglise Clinet 2021
Château L'Eglise-Clinet 2021 is a dry red Bordeaux from Pomerol, made as the château's grand vin by the Durantou family. The blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, a Right Bank composition that in this vintage is described less by sheer weight and more by freshness, focus and firm structure. The wine comes from a small vineyard on the Pomerol plateau, close to the church that forms part of the estate's name. The vineyard covers roughly 4.4 to 4.5 hectares, with clay and gravel soils and a significant proportion of old vines. The 2021 harvest took place from 27 to 29 September, without chaptalisation, and the wine was matured largely in new French oak.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Pomerol we like to present when the conversation turns to wines with origin, depth and ageing potential. The 2021 vintage has been strongly recognised by respected critics, with ratings in the mid-nineties, yet its real interest lies in the glass: dark fruit, floral detail, mineral tension and a long, spicy finish. Only the last bottles remain.
