Chateau L'Eglise Clinet 2021
On request only
Château L'Eglise-Clinet 2021 is a dry red Bordeaux from Pomerol, made as the château's grand vin by the Durantou family. The blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, a Right Bank composition that in this vintage is described less by sheer weight and more by freshness, focus and firm structure.
The wine comes from a small vineyard on the Pomerol plateau, close to the church that forms part of the estate's name. The vineyard covers roughly 4.4 to 4.5 hectares, with clay and gravel soils and a significant proportion of old vines. The 2021 harvest took place from 27 to 29 September, without chaptalisation, and the wine was matured largely in new French oak.

La Petite Eglise 2021 is the second wine, or parcel selection, of Ch L'Eglise Clinet in Pomerol. It is strongly merlot-led, with a blend of 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc, drawn from estate parcels and younger merlot vines. Vintage-specific information also mentions 2016 plantings near the church parcel being used in the wine for the first time.
The 2021 vintage in Pomerol was cooler and more demanding than the very ripe years that came before it. That gives this wine much of its appeal: it is less massive in style, with the focus falling on freshness, floral detail, fine tannins and a clear core of fruit. Ageing in French oak barrels, with 60% new oak mentioned for this vintage, adds support without pushing the fruit into the background.

La Petite Eglise 2022 is a dry red Pomerol from Château L'Eglise-Clinet, made as the estate's second wine but drawn from specific parcels within the property. The fruit comes from sites that include a parcel near the church of Pomerol and another close to Château La Fleur-Pétrus, giving this wine a clear sense of place rather than a generic second-label role.
The 2022 vintage was marked by an early harvest, running from 31 August to 9 September. The blend is 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc, matured in oak barrels with 60% new oak. That élevage gives shape and depth, while the tasting notes point strongly towards pure fruit, floral lift, mineral detail and polished structure.

La Petite Eglise 2022 is the second wine of Château L'Eglise-Clinet in Pomerol, presented here in a 1.5-litre magnum. It is a dry red Bordeaux drawn from a small, carefully selected part of the estate, with fruit from plots including those near the church of Pomerol and close to Château La Fleur-Pétrus.
The 2022 blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. That gives it a clear Right Bank identity: ripe, dark-fruited depth from Merlot, lifted by the floral, herbal and spicy detail associated with Cabernet Franc. Harvest began early, with Merlot starting on 31 August and Cabernet Franc in early September, in a warm, dry Bordeaux vintage where the tasting notes still point to freshness and structure.
