Château Berliquet 2021 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru shaped by a vineyard of around 10 hectares, set between the limestone plateau and the clay-rich slope. That contrast is central to the wine's identity: limestone-driven tension, clay-given depth, and a blend of 61% Merlot with 39% Cabernet Franc.The 2021 growing season in Bordeaux was demanding. April frost, a cool and wet May, and persistent July rain meant that careful vineyard work mattered greatly. Against that background, Berliquet describes the vintage as precise and aromatic, with Cabernet Franc showing particular expressiveness.
Maturation took place for 16 months in the château's underground limestone quarries, using oak barrels, 44% of them new, alongside amphorae. The tasting information available places the emphasis on floral detail, red and dark fruit, freshness, finesse and a mineral line, rather than on overt oak.
