Flavour notes

Château Cheval Blanc 2015 Magnum is the 1.5 litre format of Château Cheval Blanc's grand vin from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in Bordeaux. The 2015 blend is composed of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc, a composition that reflects the estate's strong Cabernet Franc identity on Bordeaux's Right Bank.The 2015 vintage was a distinctive one for Cheval Blanc. It began dry and warm, followed by cooler conditions during ripening. According to the château, this created an exceptionally homogeneous harvest, spread over a long picking period from early September into early October. Almost every parcel was considered worthy of the grand vin, and no Le Petit Cheval was produced in this vintage.
The estate's parcel-by-parcel approach is central here. Grapes from individual plots are harvested, vinified and assessed separately before the final blend is made. The grand vin is matured for around 16 to 18 months in French oak barriques; for 2015, the available information refers to 100% new oak. Even so, the tasting profile is driven above all by fruit, floral detail, spice, minerality and a precise tannic frame.
