Château de Pez 2022 is the grand vin of Château de Pez in Saint-Estèphe, within the Médoc. It is a dry red Bordeaux built around a classic blend, with the vineyard setting playing an important role: gravel rises over clay and limestone soils.The 2022 blend is led by merlot and cabernet sauvignon, with small amounts of cabernet franc and petit verdot. Vinification was carried out parcel by parcel, using wooden vats and temperature-controlled stainless steel truncated-cone tanks. The wine then spent 15 months in French oak barrels, half of them new, giving it the framework for ageing without taking the focus away from its Saint-Estèphe identity.
For Château de Pez, 2022 was a demanding and distinctive year. Hail reduced the crop significantly, while the summer brought heat and drought, with mid-August rain helping the final phase of ripening. That background helps explain the style described in the tasting notes: ripe dark fruit, firm yet polished tannins, freshness and a marked mineral line.

Château de Pez is a historic winery located in the appellation of Saint-Estèphe in the Bordeaux region of France. The estate is one of the oldest wine châteaux in the Médoc and has a history dating back to the 15th century. Château de Pez is known for its classically structured red wines, which reflect the characteristic features of Saint-Estèphe, such as power, structure, and a solid tannin base.
