Château Feytit-Clinet 2022 Demi is a red Pomerol from Bordeaux in a 37.5 cl half bottle. The estate has been in the hands of the Chasseuil family since 2000, and this wine is made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with Merlot clearly setting the tone. It is very much a Right Bank Bordeaux in style: ripe dark fruit, depth and a firm sense of structure.The 2022 vintage is described in the available notes as concentrated and built for ageing. The fruit comes from Pomerol vineyards, with references to Clinet, Latour and Feytit, from vines averaging around 34 years on gravel and clay soils. Fermentation took place in concrete vats, followed by around 16 months of ageing in oak barrels, including a significant proportion of new oak. That ageing helps explain the wine's combination of dark fruit, spice, tannin and polished wood influence.
