Château Lynch-Moussas 2021 is the grand vin of Château Lynch-Moussas, a red Bordeaux from Pauillac in France. It carries the background of a 5ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, and in this vintage the emphasis is clearly on Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot.The blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot. Pauillac's deep gravel soils are an important part of the wine's identity, bringing structure, freshness and length. The 2021 growing season was demanding, with April frost and a cool, changeable summer, followed by a sunnier and drier October that helped the Cabernet Sauvignon show its strength.
Fermentation and maceration took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over 15 to 20 days. The wine then spent 18 months in French oak barriques, around 60% of them new. That ageing frames the wine in a classic Bordeaux style, with dark fruit, fine spice, present yet polished tannins and the firm outline associated with Pauillac.
