Château Latour-Martillac Blanc 2020 is the dry white grand vin of Château Latour-Martillac in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. The estate is classified as Cru Classé de Graves for white wine, and its name refers to the tower on the property, a remnant of a medieval fortified building in Martillac. Since Alfred Kressmann acquired the estate in 1930, the château has been closely tied to the Kressmann family.The 2020 vintage had a very particular rhythm: a mild winter, early budbreak, a wet spring and then an exceptionally dry summer. The white grapes were harvested early, before the mid-September heatwave. The blend of 68% Sauvignon Blanc and 32% Sémillon brings together aromatic lift, freshness and a rounder, more textured side.
Fermentation took place in barriques, followed by 15 months on the lees, including 10 months in French oak barriques with 25% new oak. The point here is not heavy oak, but structure, detail and depth. Serve it around 12 to 14 °C. It is especially well matched with fish, shellfish and seafood, but also with sea bream with lime and dill, langoustines, grilled lobster, sole meunière, light poultry dishes with coconut or Saint-Nectaire cheese.

Château Latour-Martillac is a wine estate from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, which is part of the Graves area south of the city of Bordeaux. The château owes its name to a medieval tower that can still be found on the estate, a striking historical feature. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, the estate has been managed by the Kressmann family, who acquired full ownership in 1929. Château Latour-Martillac is best known for its red and white wines, both of which are included among the Crus Classés de Graves according to the 1953 and 1959 classifications. The vineyards consist of a mix of classic Bordeaux grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot for red, and Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle for white.
