Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc 2020 is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, offered here in a 1.5 litre magnum. Its setting is part of the appeal: the vineyards lie in Talence and Pessac, just south-west of Bordeaux, on broad gravel terraces over clay, sand, limestone and shelly sand.The 2020 blend is 54.7% Sauvignon Blanc and 45.3% Sémillon. In this vintage, Sauvignon Blanc forms the majority and brings the acid structure, while Sémillon remains important for breadth and texture. The white grapes were picked early, between 19 and 28 August, after a season that moved from a wet spring into a very warm, dry summer period, with rain in August helping the final stage of ripening.
The wine saw 34.3% new barrels, yet the available tasting notes describe the wood influence as subtle and integrated rather than dominant. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of white Bordeaux we like to present for its tension between aromatic depth, freshness and ageing potential. In magnum, it also has a presence at the table that suits a wine of this stature.

Chateau La Mission Haut Brion is a respected winery from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Pessac-Leognan appellation near the city of Bordeaux.
