Chateau Lynch Moussas 2020 is very much a Pauillac in spirit: cabernet sauvignon leads the blend, the structure is clearly present, and the wine has been built with ageing in mind. This is the Grand Vin of Château Lynch-Moussas, a Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, usually listed as a 5th Grand Cru Classé.The 2020 blend is 72% cabernet sauvignon and 28% merlot. The estate's vineyards are set on deep gravel soils in Pauillac, and the vintage itself followed an early growing cycle before a hot, dry spell slowed the vines down. Harvest took place in September, with merlot picked first and cabernet sauvignon later, reinforcing the wine's cabernet-driven identity.
Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 18 months in French oak barrels, around 60% of them new. That ageing gives the wine its frame of cedar, spice and polished depth, while the dark fruit remains central. In the Bordeaux selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle that stands out for its Pauillac structure, ripe tannins and clear ageing potential.
