Pichon Comtesse Réserve 2019 Demi brings Pauillac into the half-bottle format of 37.5 cl. It is the second wine of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé estate from the 1855 classification. That gives the wine its appeal: it comes from the same château setting as the grand vin, but speaks with its own voice.The 2019 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon and merlot, with a small proportion of cabernet franc. The wine comes from gravel, clay and sand soils, with the average vine age for this release stated at 35 years. Vinification was carried out parcel by parcel, with gravity used to fill the vats, followed by 12 months in barriques, 40% of them new.

Ch Pichon Comtesse, fully known as Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, originates from the prestigious Bordeaux region in France and belongs to the Pauillac appellation. This winery traces its origins back to the 19th century and is internationally renowned for its elegant red wines, in which cabernet sauvignon usually plays the leading role, often complemented by merlot and smaller proportions of cabernet franc and petit verdot. The vineyards are situated on the characteristic gravel soils of the left bank of the Gironde, which contributes to the structure and aging potential of the wines. Château Pichon Comtesse received the status of Deuxième Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, placing it among the second highest rank of the Medoc vineyards.
