Ardbeg Auriverdes 2014
In stock
Ardbeg Auriverdes 2014 is an Islay whisky with a very clear direction: peat and salt are at the centre of its character. At 49.9% ABV, it has a firm presence, while the available information keeps the focus on the whisky's identity rather than on unprovided cask or maturation details. The name anchors this Ardbeg firmly in 2014, giving it the feel of a specific release from that year.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, a bottle like this naturally stands out for customers who follow Ardbeg releases closely. As it is marked as a collectors item, it carries an additional sense of interest beyond the glass itself. Still, its flavour direction is straightforward: pronounced peat and salt, with fruit, spice and wood acting more as supporting elements.

Laphroaig Select is a Scotch single malt from Islay with peat smoke and saltiness at the heart of its character. Its New Oak Finish adds a modest touch of wood, giving the whisky a little extra structure while leaving the smoky, coastal-style profile firmly in front.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a clear introduction to the more assertive side of Islay single malt. The emphasis is on peat and saline depth, supported by light spice and oak rather than fruitiness or floral notes. Bottled at 40%, it presents that character in a straightforward, approachable way.

Ardbeg Uigeadail Incl. Box

Ardbeg Uigeadail, pronounced Oog-a-dal, takes its name from Loch Uigeadail, the water source connected to the making of this Islay single malt. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as one of those whiskies that explains its reputation in the glass: firmly peated, full-bodied and shaped by a carefully chosen marriage of casks.
The heart of Uigeadail is its vatting method. Ardbeg combines deep smoky notes from old American oak bourbon casks with the savoury, raisin-like character of old Oloroso sherry casks. That is what gives this whisky its particular tension: the traditional Ardbeg house style remains bold and smoky, while the sherry influence adds a darker sweetness and extra depth.
Bottled at 54.2%, it has plenty of natural strength. Enjoyed neat, it shows (…)Ardbeg Corryvreckan Incl. Box

Ardbeg Corryvreckan Incl. Box

Ardbeg Corryvreckan takes its name from the famous whirlpool off the north coast of Islay, and that reference suits the whisky well. This is a forceful Islay single malt, known within Ardbeg's core range as its most medicinal expression, with peat, salt and intensity very much at the centre of the experience.
Its maturation adds another layer to that power. Corryvreckan is first matured in new French oak casks and then in ex-bourbon casks, bringing spicy and sweet elements into the whisky without softening its outspoken house style. Bottled at 57.1% and non-chill filtered, it keeps plenty of mouthfeel, body and depth.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we tend to place Corryvreckan in front of drinkers looking for a bold Ardbeg rather than a gentle introduction. It (…)Big Peat 12y (Douglas Laing) Tube Incl.

Big Peat 12y (Douglas Laing) Tube Incl.

Big Peat 12y takes the familiar Big Peat story into a more mature register. This Islay blended malt is bottled by Douglas Laing as part of the Regional Malts range, a series built around clear, classic expressions of Scotland's whisky regions.
With Big Peat, that regional identity is unmistakably Islay: peat, maritime salinity, smoke, charred oak and darker ashy tones. The 12 years of age give the whisky more depth and cohesion, while keeping the bold coastal character that defines the name.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a natural step for anyone who enjoys the original Big Peat and wants to taste what extra maturation brings to that same robust style. Bottled at 46%, without added colouring and without chill filtration, it keeps its presentation (…)Ledaig 2010 14y (Cadenhead - Original Collection)

Ledaig 2010 14 year old is a Scottish single malt from the Isle of Mull, bottled by Cadenhead as part of the Original Collection. It shows the peated side of Tobermory Distillery, a style appreciated for its smoky, coastal and mineral personality.
Tobermory produces two distinct types of single malt: the unpeated whisky under the Tobermory name and the peated version as Ledaig. This 14 year old release matured fully in ex-bourbon casks, giving the distillery's smoky and salty character plenty of room to speak clearly.
Cadenhead's Original Collection is built around selected casks that are brought together and allowed to rest before bottling at 46%, a strength chosen for drinkability. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to introduce to (…)Ardbeg Renaissance

Ardbeg Renaissance is an Islay single malt from Scotland with peat firmly at the centre of its personality. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this bottle in front of someone looking for a clearly defined Ardbeg rather than a gentle introduction to the style.
Distilled in 1998 and matured in oak cask, it carries its strength at 55.9% alcohol with real presence. There is no age statement attached in the supplied details, so the focus naturally shifts to the individual identity of the release: smoky, coastal in feel, and unmistakably rooted in Islay.
With the last bottles indicated and the release marked as a collectors item, Ardbeg Renaissance also has a scarcity that adds to its appeal. It is the sort of bottle that stands apart in a whisky selection (…)Octomore 16.1 Tube Incl.

Distilled in 2020 and matured for 5 years in bourbon barrels, this release keeps the focus quite clear. The peat is the dominant feature, supported by a distinctly salty side, while the wood influence remains relatively light. Fruit and spice are present only as supporting accents, giving some lift without changing the whisky's core identity.

Distilled in 2017 and aged for 5 years, it presents a direct and powerful side of Islay whisky. The profile is strongly peated, with a clear salty dimension running alongside lighter touches of wood, spice and fruit.
For drinkers looking for an Islay single malt built around intensity, smoke and coastal character, Octomore 14.3 speaks with a very clear voice.

The strength is an important part of the story here. Bottled at cask strength at 63.5%, Oc2 keeps a powerful, direct presence rather than being shaped into a softer standard release.
