Chateau Tronquoy Lalande Blanc 2019 is a dry white Bordeaux with a rather distinctive background. The estate is located in Saint-Estèphe in the northern Médoc, an area far better known for red wines. That already makes this white cuvée stand apart, especially as it comes from a small part of the vineyard on the higher section of the Tronquoy-Lalande plateau, where around one hectare has been dedicated to white wine since 2011.The 2019 vintage is made from 66% sémillon and 34% sauvignon gris. Sémillon gives the wine body, roundness and texture, while sauvignon gris brings aromatic freshness and lift. The grapes are hand-picked in small open crates with successive selections in the vineyard, then vinified in barriques and aged for six to nine months on the lees.

It has the tension expected from a dry white wine, but also enough depth and texture to make it more than a simple aperitif style. Its small-scale production and limited remaining availability add to its particular appeal.

Ch Tronquoy, fully Chateau Tronquoy-Lalande, is a wine estate from the Bordeaux region in France. The estate is located in the appellation Saint-Estéphe, a well-known area within the Médoc that is famous for its robust red wines. Chateau Tronquoy-Lalande has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and is considered one of the classic wineries of the region. The vineyards, mainly planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, benefit from the characteristic gravel and clay-rich terroir of Saint-Estéphe. The winery produces wines that are known for their power, structure and aging potential, which is typical for this subregion of Bordeaux. Since 2006, the estate has been owned by the Bouygues family, who are also involved in several other well-known Bordeaux wineries, and it has since undergone various investments and modernizations, both in the vineyards and in the cellars.
