Flavour notes
The wine shows a deep ruby colour with the first hints of garnet at the rim. Aromatically it leans into dark cherry, blackcurrant and cassis, followed by warm spice, dried herbs, a smoky note and a cooler lift of mint or eucalyptus.On the palate it is dry, concentrated and firmly structured, with ripe fruit held in place by fine-grained tannins and lively acidity. Earthy, balsamic and mineral nuances add depth, carrying through to a long finish with a mineral edge. Serve at around 16 to 17 °C, preferably after at least an hour of decanting.

Charlopin-Tissier Marsannay Clos du Roy Rouge 2019 is a red Burgundy in magnum format, from one of the most highly regarded lieux-dits in Marsannay. Clos du Roy is described as a historic vineyard site on a sheltered, gentle slope, with well-drained clay-limestone soils. In the glass, that origin points toward a Marsannay with weight, depth and structure rather than a purely light, fruit-driven style.Yann Charlopin and Justine Tissier founded their domaine in 2013 in Morey-Saint-Denis. This red Clos du Roy is made from Pinot Noir, with an approach that reflects careful vineyard and cellar work: organic vineyard management, hand harvesting, full destemming, cold maceration, fermentation with native yeasts, slow ageing on fine lees and bottling without filtration.
The 2019 vintage brings natural ripeness and concentration, and the sheltered Clos du Roy site adds to the wine's sense of depth. Presented in magnum, it should develop more slowly than a standard bottle thanks to the larger format. Within the Burgundy selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is a Marsannay for those who appreciate a more structured, serious expression of the appellation. About DOMAINE CHARLOPIN TISSIER
Domaine Charlopin Tissier comes from Burgundy, one of France's most highly regarded wine regions. This relatively young estate was founded in 2013 and is run by brothers Yann and Justine Charlopin, who come from a family with deep-rooted wine traditions. Although the estate does not yet belong to the absolute greats of Burgundy, it has managed to attract attention in a short period of time with its approach to winemaking: respect for the terroir, minimal intervention in the cellar, and a strong focus on the expression of grape varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Charlopin Tissier owns vineyards around, among others, Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, resulting in a range of typical Burgundy wines that vary from fresh, mineral-driven white wines to elegant and refined red wines. The working method is largely traditional, with manual harvesting and careful selection being standard practice. Despite its short history, Domaine Charlopin Tissier has become a name that is followed with curiosity by enthusiasts of modern Burgundy with a classic approach.
