Les Pelerins De Lafon Rochet 2019 is the second wine of Château Lafon-Rochet in Saint-Estèphe, Médoc. It comes from the same estate background as the château's Grand Vin, but with a more approachable expression: a red Bordeaux that shows its origin clearly without being built for decades of waiting.The 2019 vintage is a blend of 57% merlot and 43% cabernet sauvignon. The grapes come from the château's vineyards on deep gravel and gravel-over-clay soils, with vines averaging around 30 years of age. After hand harvesting, the wine was fermented in concrete and stainless-steel vats, followed by 12 months in barrels. The style stays firmly in classic Saint-Estèphe territory: ripe fruit, freshness, structure and a mineral edge, rather than a wine dominated by overt oak.

About CH LAFON ROCHET
Château Lafon-Rochet is a winery from the Bordeaux region in France, located in the famous Saint-Estèphe, one of the four major villages in the Médoc. This château is classified as a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé according to the legendary 1855 classification system, which places it among the higher ranks of Bordeaux wines. The origins of Lafon-Rochet date back to the 17th century, although it acquired its current name only in the 19th century through the merging of the Lafon and Rochet families. The estate is situated on a strategic location on a gravel-covered hill, which provides optimal drainage for the vines and characteristic terroir influences on the wine. The property covers approximately 40 hectares and is mainly planted with the classic Bordeaux grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Lafon-Rochet is known for producing powerfully structured wines with good aging potential, typical of Saint-Estèphe, but with an elegant balance and finesse.
