Product info about Daniel Bouju Lot 79
IMPORTANT: This cognac from Daniel Bouju will never return once it is sold out. If you want to be sure that this Daniel Bouju will shine in your bar cabinet, don't wait too long to order!
It is a version of 70 cl and has an alcohol content of 51,8%.
With a no-age-statement cognac, no age is indicated on the bottle. Often producers choose not to disclose age when an older cognac is supplemented by younger ones. After all, according to the rules, the age must always be the youngest cognac in the blend, which is not desirable when the bulk in the blend is older (and therefore more valuable). Conversely, one can also choose not to mention age, when predominantly young cognac is diluted with a small amount of (very) old cognac. In that case, the product is often marketed at a higher price, and to justify that high(er) price, a choice is made not to mention an age (which would otherwise be the youngest in the blend).
This cognac is a single cask bottling. What is a single cask? A single cask (single barrel) means that the cognac in the bottle comes from just one cask and was not mixed with another cognac from e.g. another barrel. Because the contents come from a single barrel, the number of bottles depends on the size of the barrel and the evaporation of the product (called the Angel's Share), the number of bottles is limited (and often numbered) and no new bottles of this particular reference are released on the market. That also makes this Daniel Bouju Lot 79 single cask a rather unique specimen.
The cognac was bottled at cask strength. What does cask strength mean? A cask strength cognac is not diluted with water before bottling, but goes straight from the cask into the bottle, thus retaining the alcohol content during/after cask maturation. One of the advantages of this cask strength Daniel Bouju Lot 79 is that, when drinking it, you can decide how strong you like your cognac by diluting it, or not, yourself with a little water according to your preference, instead of the producer having already done this for you. However, the higher alcohol content can sometimes suppress the subtlety of the cognac.
Finally, we have listed some fun facts and answers to frequently asked questions for you about this Daniel Bouju Lot 79 cognac:
- Daniel Bouju Lot 79 was bottled on/in 25/10/23. At that point, the maturation process ended and cognac was bottled.
- There were a total of 300 bottles in this bottling.
