Camus is a cognac house from France that has been active in the Cognac region since 1863. The company is one of the larger independent family brands in the industry and is still led by the descendants of founder Jean-Baptiste Camus. Production takes place in the traditional region around Cognac, with the brand being particularly known for using grapes from the Borderies, one of the smaller but highly regarded crus of the area. Camus mainly focuses on cognac with a fruity and floral character, which is partly due to this specific origin of the grapes. The range varies from VS and VSOP to older XO variants and special releases. Maturation takes place in oak barrels, according to the regulations that apply to cognac. Thanks to a combination of traditional methods and some modern techniques, Camus has managed to distinguish itself for generations within the world of cognac, with authenticity and the family character playing an important role.
