Saintayme 2020 is a red Bordeaux from the Right Bank, produced in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. It comes from Vignobles Denis Durantou and is made entirely from merlot, with fruit sourced from Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse on the eastern side of Saint-Émilion.
The 2020 vintage brings together ripe merlot fruit with the freshness and tension repeatedly noted in tasting descriptions. The grapes were harvested at the end of September, fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak barriques, 30% of them new. The oak is described as present but not dominant, sitting behind the fruit, spice and earthy depth.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Saintayme 2020 as a well-defined Saint-Émilion Grand Cru for drinkers who enjoy merlot (…)Saintayme 2021

Saintayme 2021 is a dry red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, within the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru AOC on Bordeaux's right bank. It is linked to the Durantou family and comes from vineyards in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, east of the village of Saint-Émilion. The emphasis in this vintage is not on sheer richness, but on a fresher, more finely drawn expression of merlot.
The wine is made from 100% merlot. For the 2021 vintage, the grapes were harvested between 28 September and 11 October, followed by ageing in French oak barrels, around 30% of them new, with part of the maturation also taking place in tank. That combination fits the style described in the tasting notes: medium-bodied, dry, structured, and more restrained than broader, riper Bordeaux (…)Saintayme 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Saintayme 2021 Magnum (1,5l)
Very last one in stock!
Saintayme 2021 Magnum presents Saint-Émilion through a cooler Bordeaux vintage: less about sheer weight, more about freshness, precision and a clear line of fruit. In the 1.5 litre magnum format, it feels generous at the table while keeping the composed style that defines this release.
The wine comes from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and is made entirely from merlot grown in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, in the eastern part of Saint-Émilion. The grapes were harvested by hand and vinified in stainless steel, followed by ageing in barriques with around 30% new oak; tasting information also notes that part of the wine remained in tank. That combination supports the 2021 character: a merlot-driven Bordeaux with freshness, fine structure and a clear fruit (…)Saintayme 2022

Saintayme 2022
In stock
Saintayme 2022 is a dry red wine from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, made entirely from Merlot. The fruit comes from Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, east of Saint-Émilion, from a single vineyard parcel of around 9 hectares on clay-limestone soils. This site is described as relatively cool and late ripening, a detail that matters in the warm, dry Bordeaux vintage of 2022.
Harvest took place between 17 September and 3 October, which was comparatively late for the year. That helps explain the style: ripe fruit at the core, supported by freshness, tension and firm tannins. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by around 14 months in French oak barriques, with part new oak and the remainder previously used barrels.

Saintayme 2022 Magnum brings Saint-Émilion Grand Cru into a generous 1.5-litre format. It is the magnum version of Château Saintayme 2022, so the identity of the wine remains the same, but the bottle has a different presence at the table and is naturally suited to patient cellaring.
The wine comes from Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse on the eastern side of Saint-Émilion, from Château Saintayme's roughly 9 hectares of clay-limestone vineyards. The 2022 vintage is made entirely from Merlot, with hand-harvested grapes, vinification in stainless steel tanks and maturation in French oak barriques, including a proportion of new oak.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Bordeaux where origin, vintage and format all matter. The 2022 is (…)
