Wolfburn Northland
| 1 review
On request onlyWolfburn Northland has a special role in the modern Wolfburn story. It marks the first chapter of the current distillery: a Highland single malt matured on site and even bottled on Wolfburn's own bottling line.
Its gentle, warming style is linked to the slow and patient way the spirit is made, followed by careful maturation in American oak quarter casks. Northland keeps a coastal freshness alongside soft fruit and a modest touch of peat, rather than moving into a heavily smoky direction.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to introduce when someone wants a single malt with a clear sense of origin and an early place in a distillery's development. With the last bottles now in stock, it also carries a sense of becoming less readily (…)Wemyss Peat Chimney Nas (Wemyss Blended Malt)

Wemyss Peat Chimney Nas (Wemyss Blended Malt)
On request only
Wemyss Peat Chimney NAS is a Scottish blended malt shaped around smoke, but not in a way that overwhelms the whisky. Wemyss uses an Islay signature malt here, bringing the peated, lightly salted character that gives Peat Chimney its name and identity.
The appeal lies in the way the smoke is framed. There is peat, certainly, yet it is supported by gentle fruit, a touch of spice and a coastal edge rather than pushed into heavy intensity. It feels clearly smoky while still leaving room for detail.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of blended malt we like to introduce to customers who enjoy peated whisky but also appreciate a composed, well-made style. Bottled without an age statement and at 46%, it focuses on character and blending rather than on a (…)Wolfburn Northland 35cl

Wolfburn Northland 35cl

Wolfburn Northland 35cl is a smaller-format introduction to the first reference from the present-day Wolfburn distillery. Northland represents the opening chapter of that modern story: the spirit matured on site and was bottled on the distillery's own bottling line.
Its gentle, warming style comes from slow, patient production and maturation in American oak quarter casks. A light peated note is part of the character, but it stays in the background rather than taking over. The result is a Highland single malt with warmth, freshness and a discreet coastal edge.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a particularly approachable way to get to know Wolfburn without reducing the whisky to something simple. The 35cl bottle is practical, while the 46% strength (…)Ardmore 2009 9y Atc 3.0 (Signatory - Artist Edition) Incl. Box

Ardmore 2009 9y Atc 3.0 (Signatory - Artist Edition) Incl. Box
In stock
Ardmore 2009 9y ATC 3.0 is a Highland single malt with a clearly framed identity: distilled in 2009, matured for nine years and bottled by Signatory as part of the Artist Edition. It is the kind of release that gives Ardmore a slightly different perspective, shaped by an independent bottler rather than a standard distillery range.
The peated cask sets the tone, though the profile points to restraint rather than heaviness. Peat is present in a lighter way, supported by gentle spice, some fruitiness and a subtle salty edge. At 43% alcohol, the whisky keeps a composed style, allowing those accents to remain approachable and easy to read.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottling sits naturally among the more limited independent selections. With only the last (…)Scapa Glansa Incl. Box

Scapa Glansa is a Scottish single malt whisky from Orkney, bottled at 40%. Its defining feature is the use of a peated cask, giving the whisky a smoky accent without turning it into a heavily peated style.
The flavour direction is restrained and layered in a quiet way: light fruit, gentle spice, a subtle salty note and a modest thread of peat smoke. It gives Scapa Glansa a maritime edge while keeping the overall impression approachable and composed.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a useful whisky to introduce when someone is curious about peat but does not necessarily want a strongly smoky malt. As a no-age-statement single malt, it is more about style and cask influence than about an age declaration.

Bowmore Legend
Not available for shipping
Bowmore Legend is a Scottish single malt from Islay, bottled at 40% and presented without an age statement. Its identity is built around style rather than age: bourbon barrel maturation, a gentle peated touch, a coastal salty edge, light fruit and a little spice all sit within the same understated frame.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Bowmore Legend as an Islay whisky that speaks in a more restrained voice. It carries the island character, but without making smoke the whole conversation. The peat is present, the saline note gives it a maritime feel, and the fruit and spice add small accents rather than taking over.
With only the last bottles remaining, this Bowmore has a slightly more fleeting place in the range. It is a recognisable Islay single malt for (…)Tomintoul Peaty Tang Tube Incl.

Tomintoul Peaty Tang shows a smokier side of Speyside single malt. Made with peated malted barley, it brings peat into the glass without turning the whisky into a heavily smoky style. The impression is gentler: campfire-like smoke, light spice, a touch of fruit and a subtle salty edge.
It is traditionally distilled and bottled at 40% alcohol. Tomintoul also highlights the pure water from the Ballantruan Spring as part of the whisky's distinctive character.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Tomintoul Peaty Tang as an interesting contrast to more classic Speyside malts. It gives drinkers a way to explore peat through a Speyside lens, with smoke present but not dominant.

Machrie Moor Peated Cask Strength shows Arran in a smoky, full-powered style, bottled at 56.2% without being softened down too far. This Isle of Arran single malt keeps its peat, freshness and coastal saltiness very much in view.
The bourbon barrel maturation supports the whisky without taking over the conversation. What stands out is the lively contrast: smoke and ash on one side, pear and lime on the other, with a salty edge running through it. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it is one of those bottles that naturally draws attention from customers looking for a peated single malt with real strength behind it.
Because it is bottled at cask strength, it also invites a little experimentation with water. A few drops can open the whisky while keeping its smoky, briny (…)Caol Ila 18y Incl. Box

Caol Ila 18y is a Scottish single malt from Islay where peat and maturity meet in a restrained, grown-up way. The Islay identity is clearly part of the whisky, yet the 18 years of ageing give it a calmer and more developed presence than a purely forceful peated style.
Matured in oak cask and bottled at 43%, it sits in a classic strength range while keeping the focus on its island character. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Caol Ila we would point to when someone wants a peated Islay single malt with a little more age, supported by gentle fruit, light spice and a salty accent.
Its appeal lies in the way the smoke is clearly there without becoming the only thing to notice. The age gives the whisky room to breathe, making it a considered expression (…)Finlaggan Eilean Mor Incl. Box

Finlaggan Eilean Mor is a Scottish single malt from Islay, built around a clearly peated style. Bottled at 46%, it carries a little more weight than many lower-strength malts, while keeping the focus away from age statement detail and firmly on character.
The bourbon cask maturation frames a profile where peat is the main feature, supported by lighter notes of fruit, spice and salinity. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a straightforward Islay choice for drinkers who want smoke to be present and recognisable, with a few surrounding nuances rather than an overly technical presentation.
Its appeal lies in that direct combination: Islay single malt, bourbon cask influence, 46% alcohol and a peat-led personality.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would describe Ileach as an Islay malt with a straightforward character. The interest lies in its restrained combination of peat smoke, salinity and mild spice, giving the whisky a recognisable sense of place without relying on an elaborate backstory.

Its profile is not described as heavily wood-led. Instead, the character is shaped by light touches of fruit, floral notes, gentle spice, a saline edge and a measured hint of peat smoke. Nothing is pushed too far, giving the whisky a calm and understated feel.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the sort of bottle that draws attention from customers looking for an older Scotch blend with a soft smoky accent. With only the last bottles remaining, this 21-year-old Islay Mist also carries a quiet sense of scarcity.

Bottled at 40%, it stays within a familiar drinking strength, while the stated flavour profile points to definite peat supported by lighter notes of spice, fruit and a salty edge.
With no age statement given, the focus rests less on years of maturation and more on the whisky's direct personality: Scottish, Islay-led and clearly smoky in character. Additional information can be found at https://www.islaymist.com/

Bottled at 50%, it has a firm presence in the glass. Rather than softening its Islay identity, it presents that character in a direct and confident way.

Ardmore 1997 22y is a Highland single malt with a very focused story: one distillation vintage, one hogshead, one independent bottling by The Nectar for the Daily Dram range. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in April 2019, it spent 22 years maturing before being released at its natural cask strength of 48.7%.
As a single cask release, this is not about a broad house-style blend of many parcels. It is a particular cask captured at one point in time. With only 180 bottles produced, and now down to the last bottles, that sense of scarcity is part of its appeal.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we like bottlings like this because they give whisky drinkers a direct view of an individual mature malt. The profile is led by fruit, supported by gentle spice, a salty edge and a (…)Caol Ila 2010 (Berry Bros)

This is a single cask bottling from a hogshead, so the interest lies in its individuality. Rather than a broad house-style expression, it shows one particular cask's take on Caol Ila, with peat in the foreground and lighter salty, spicy and fruity accents around it.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of bottle that speaks to drinkers who enjoy the more specific side of Islay whisky. With only the last bottles remaining, it also carries the quiet appeal of a release that will not stay around indefinitely.

There is no age statement, so the attention falls on the selection itself: peat at the centre, with lighter touches of spice, fruit and salinity shaping the surrounding profile.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this bottle in the hands of someone looking for a clear and uncomplicated introduction to an Islay single malt. The 40% strength keeps the whisky approachable, while the coastal, lightly peated character remains easy to recognise.
Its oak cask maturation does not dominate the story. Finlaggan Old Reserve stays focused on its essentials: a single malt with an Islay signature, modest in presentation but clear in identity.
