Ballechin 2005 17y Small Batch Burgundy Tube Incl.

Ballechin 2005 17y Small Batch Burgundy is a Highland single malt with a clearly defined personality. Distilled in November 2005, it spent 17 years maturing, with Burgundy casks forming an important part of its identity.
The appeal here lies in the meeting of maturity, peat and cask strength. Bottled at 53.5%, it keeps a firm, direct presence rather than being shaped into a softer standard expression. The Small Batch indication also gives it a more focused feel within the Ballechin range.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of whisky we would point out to someone looking for a Scottish single malt with real structure and a smoky-spiced core. The profile highlights peat and spice most clearly, supported by lighter floral, fruity, woody and salty (…)Lagg Small Batch Manzanilla

Lagg Small Batch Manzanilla
On request only
Lagg Small Batch Manzanilla shows a particularly focused side of Lagg: heavily peated single malt from the Isle of Arran, shaped by the salty, wine-like finesse of Manzanilla casks. The peat smoke is clear, but it is carried by more than intensity alone, with red fruit, warm honey and gentle spice giving the whisky extra depth.
Its maturation tells much of the story. The whisky first spent time in first- and second-fill bourbon barrels, before receiving more than a year of finishing in first-fill Manzanilla casks. That final stage adds a maritime, mineral edge and keeps the richness neatly framed.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this release as a strong choice within the Scottish single malt selection for drinkers who enjoy peat with structure and (…)Longrow Red Pinot Noir 15y

Longrow Red Pinot Noir 15y
Very last one in stock!
Longrow Red Pinot Noir 15y is a Campbeltown single malt with a clear sense of direction. Fifteen years of age, wine maturation and bottling at cask strength give it a firm, expressive profile rather than a polished or softened one.
The Pinot Noir name places this release firmly within the Longrow Red style, where wine maturation plays an important role. What stands out here is the interplay between peat and spice, supported by lighter fruity, floral, woody and salty notes. It is a whisky built on contrast and structure, with the cask influence adding another layer without taking the focus away from the Longrow identity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would point this bottle towards drinkers who enjoy single malt with presence and a little edge. The 51.4% (…)Ardmore 2009 10y Nectar (The Single Malts Of Scotland - Single Malts Of Scotland For The Nectar)

Ardmore 2009 10y Nectar (The Single Malts Of Scotland - Single Malts Of Scotland For The Nectar)

Ardmore 2009 10y Nectar is a Highland single malt with a clear independent bottling identity. Distilled in December 2009 and bottled in October 2020 by The Single Malts of Scotland for The Nectar, it captures Ardmore through one focused release rather than a broad house expression.
Its appeal lies in the combination of a single cask, cask strength bottling and a small outturn of 230 bottles. That makes it a very specific snapshot: one cask, ten years of maturation, and a whisky presented with its strength intact at 57.8%.
The Peated Cask brings peat into the foreground, supported by a notably spicy profile. Wood, fruit, floral notes and a light saline edge sit more quietly around that core. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like for its (…)Bowmore 2010 15y (The Whisky Agency - Milroy's For Twa)

Bowmore 2010 15y (The Whisky Agency - Milroy's For Twa)
On request only
Bowmore 2010 15y is a very focused Islay single malt: one bourbon barrel, fifteen years of maturation, and bottled at cask strength by The Whisky Agency for Milroy's for TWA. Rather than presenting a broad house style, it captures the development of a single cask from one specific period.
Its character is built around coastal smoke, with a fresher fruit note sitting in the background. At 53.7%, the whisky keeps a direct, cask-strength presence in the glass, giving the maritime and peated side room to come through with real clarity.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottling that speaks to drinkers who enjoy independent releases with a clear origin. Distilled in 2010 and bottled after fifteen years from a single bourbon barrel, it offers a sharply (…)Staoisha 2013 12y The Nectar & Kirsch - Sherry Butt (Signatory - The Nectar And Kirsch)

Staoisha 2013 12y The Nectar & Kirsch - Sherry Butt (Signatory - The Nectar And Kirsch)

Staoisha is the heavily peated side of Bunnahabhain, and this 2013 12-year-old bottling keeps that identity firmly in view. It comes from a single sherry butt, described in the product information as a 1st Fill Oloroso Butt, setting up a clear contrast between dry peat and the darker, more candied weight of sherry maturation.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Islay whisky we would introduce to someone looking for tension rather than softness. The peat remains earthy and coastal, while the Oloroso influence adds depth, density and a more indulgent edge without taking away the raw Staoisha character.
Bottled as part of The Nectar & Kirsch in collaboration with Signatory Vintage, it was distilled on 6 September 2013 and bottled on 1 August 2026 (…)Big Peat Winter Edition 2026 (Douglas Laing)

Expected: 01/11/2026Big Peat Winter Edition 2026 shows this well-known Islay blended malt in a richer, more winter-minded style. The familiar Big Peat signature is still there: maritime smoke, peat and soft malt remain at the centre of the whisky.
After 10 years of maturation, this edition spent a further 16 months in carefully selected French red wine casks. That finish adds depth, warmth and maturity, bringing darker fruit and a more indulgent edge without taking away the coastal Islay smoke.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Big Peat we would point out to someone who enjoys the classic smoky style but wants a fuller interpretation. Bottled at 48%, it carries its peat smoke well, while the wine cask influence brings forest berries, black cherry, ripe plum, vanilla, (…)Ballechin Straight From The Cask 2010 10y 50cl

Ballechin Straight From The Cask 2010 10y is a Highland single malt from Edradour with a very direct identity: one bourbon cask, bottled at cask strength. The appeal lies in that clarity. It was distilled on 28 October 2010 and bottled on 25 October 2021, giving a 10-year-old whisky that captures the character of one individual cask.
At 58.2% ABV, it keeps a firm, unsoftened presence. The profile is driven by peat and spice, with lighter touches of fruit, wood, floral nuance and salinity. The bourbon cask plays a supporting role rather than turning the whisky into something overly polished.

Laphroaig 14y Willem Dafoe is an Islay single malt with a story that feels very much in line with its name. This limited Bold Character edition was created in collaboration with actor Willem Dafoe, whose distinctive personality and long-standing connection with the distillery helped inspire both the whisky selection and the packaging.
The core remains unmistakably Laphroaig: medicinal peat smoke with a coastal edge. Its maturation adds another layer. After initial ageing in American bourbon casks, the whisky was finished in carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks, bringing extra depth through dried fruit, caramel, coffee and rich sherry influence alongside the smoke.

Kilchoman 16y is a significant release in the Kilchoman story. According to the supplied product information, it was the distillery's oldest bottling to date in 2023, giving this Islay single malt a clear sense of occasion. It is a whisky shaped by peat, time and cask influence, with maturity playing a central role.
The whisky was created from a vatting of 21 ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 50% ABV. That cask combination supports the style described in the tasting notes: vanilla and fruit from one side, richer spice and dried-fruit impressions from the other. The peat level is stated at 50 ppm, so the smoky Islay identity is still firmly part of the whisky, but the 16 years of maturation give it more depth and composure.

The maturation brings together sherry and bourbon casks, giving the whisky a broader frame for its peat and spice. The supplied profile points to those two elements as the most expressive, with lighter touches of fruit, floral character, wood and salinity around them.

Mars Yakushima 2021 is a Japanese single malt from Mars Maltage with a distinctly assertive personality. The name places Yakushima and the 2021 release at the centre, giving the bottle the feel of a specific edition rather than a standard ongoing expression.
Its appeal lies in the combination of 56% alcohol strength and a profile where spice and peat are clearly present. Oak cask maturation adds a woody layer, though the flavour profile suggests that the wood supports the whisky rather than dominating it.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Japanese single malt we would place in front of someone looking for a more pronounced style: powerful, smoky, spicy and less restrained than many softer whiskies. This release was bottled by Stalla Dhu as a single cask from a sherry butt, with 657 bottles produced. As these are the last bottles, the release has become increasingly limited. Bottled at cask strength at 50% alcohol, it keeps a more direct link to the strength and personality of the cask.

In stockWolfburn Morven shows the lightly peated side of Highland single malt, with smoke that is clearly present but carefully held in check. The malted barley is infused with peat smoke during the drying process, a nod to the 19th century, when peat was widely used as a fuel.
Its appeal lies in the way that smoky heritage is shaped into something soft and rounded. Slow distillation and maturation in Wolfburn's own warehouses give Morven a composed feel, while bourbon barrels add gentle wood influence and vanilla-toned sweetness.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Wolfburn Morven as a fine choice for drinkers who want Scottish peat with detail rather than sheer force. Fresh sea air, smoke, malt, soft spice and honeyed sweetness unfold in a calm, measured way.

Laphroaig 2015 10y is an Islay single malt with a familiar origin, yet shown here in a notably fresh style. Laphroaig has been associated for more than two centuries with peat smoke, medicinal notes and maritime influence. In this Cadenhead Original Collection release, that identity comes through with citrus, saline edges and refined peat smoke at the centre.
Distilled in 2015 and matured for 10 years, it spent its full maturation in a bourbon barrel. That cask choice supports the brighter side of the whisky, without softening away the Islay character. The peat is clearly present, joined by spice, coastal freshness and a modest fruit note that gives the whisky lift.
