Big Peat Winter Edition Cask Strength 2025 (Douglas Laing Regional Malts) Incl. Box
In stock
Big Peat Winter Edition Cask Strength 2025 brings together two very different island moods. The familiar Big Peat side is all Islay: windswept, maritime and heavily peated. The other side comes from a final maturation in Madeira wine casks, adding a warmer, more exotic sweetness to this limited winter release.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of seasonal bottling that stands out because it keeps its character intact. It is bottled at natural cask strength, 53.6% ABV, without colouring and without chill filtration. That gives the whisky a firm, direct presence, with peat smoke at the centre and the Madeira finish adding richness around it.
The premium carton with foil detail suits the winter edition presentation, but the real interest lies in the (…)High West Campfire

High West Campfire
Last one in stock!
High West Campfire is an American blended whiskey with a name that points straight to its style. The character is built around pronounced wood, clear spice and a noticeable smoky side, giving it more edge than a softly rounded whiskey profile.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle for drinkers who enjoy American whiskey with a firmer, more layered presence. The wood is the main driver, the spice adds definition, and the peated element brings a campfire-like direction without needing any extra explanation beyond the name itself.
Bottled at 46%, High West Campfire has enough strength to carry that profile with confidence. A lighter fruity note sits in the background, while the overall impression remains firmly woody, spicy and smoky.

Port Ellen 1979 32y 11th
Very last one in stock!
Port Ellen 1979 32y 11th is an Islay single malt with rarity written into its very structure. Distilled in 1979 and matured for 32 years, it is the kind of whisky that invites a slower, more considered introduction. With 2,988 bottles released and identified as a collector's item, this is not a routine bottling but a limited old single malt with a very clear sense of place and time.
The maturation in American and European oak gives the whisky a firm frame of wood and spice, while its Islay origin is reflected in a clear peated side and a light saline accent. Bottled at cask strength, 53.9%, it keeps its natural power rather than being softened down to a standard drinking strength.

Laphroaig 27y is a mature Islay single malt with a distinctly limited nature. Bottled by The Single Malts of Scotland as part of the Director's Special series, it shows a far older side of Laphroaig than most drinkers encounter regularly.
This release was matured in a bourbon barrel and bottled at 51.2%, with only 210 bottles produced. With the last bottles now in view, it occupies a special place at Drankenshop Broekmans for customers looking for an aged, small-release Islay whisky rather than a standard distillery bottling.
What makes it so engaging is the way the tasting notes move between tropical sweetness and dark smoke. Mango, banana, passion fruit and lime sit alongside coal smoke, dark chocolate, mint, tobacco and cherry jam. The result is a (…)Caol Ila 40y (The Single Malts Of Scotland - Director's Special)

Caol Ila 40y (The Single Malts Of Scotland - Director's Special)
In stock
Caol Ila 40y is the kind of single malt where age and origin immediately set the tone. Forty years of maturation gives this Islay whisky a serious sense of depth, while the fact that it comes from a single hogshead cask makes it highly specific rather than broadly representative.
Bottled by The Single Malts of Scotland for the Director's Special series, it is presented at cask strength, 49.1% ABV. Only 108 bottles were drawn from the cask, and with the last bottles remaining, it has a naturally special position within the whisky selection at Drankenshop Broekmans.
The profile stays connected to Islay through peat and a salty accent, while long maturation brings wood influence and spice into focus. Fruit is present in a quieter supporting role. For anyone (…)Compass Box Flaming Heart 7th (Compass Box Limited Edition)

Compass Box Flaming Heart 7th (Compass Box Limited Edition)

Compass Box Flaming Heart 7th is a Scottish blended malt from the Compass Box limited edition range. It sits in a flavour space where peat, spice and wood are clearly present, supported by a lighter fruit note and a subtle salty edge.
There is no age statement here, and the whisky is described as multivintage. That shifts the focus away from a single number and towards the composition of the release itself: a layered blended malt shaped around intensity, smoke and structure. At 48.9% alcohol, it has enough strength to carry that profile with confidence.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Compass Box release that stands out for its combination of limited availability and a more pronounced smoky-spiced style. An Islay 30y is a Scottish single malt where the age and origin do most of the talking. The distillery remains undisclosed, yet the essentials are firmly in place: Islay, thirty years of maturation, and a bottling by The Single Malts of Scotland under the Marriage label.
That anonymity gives the whisky a different kind of appeal. Rather than leaning on a distillery name, it invites attention to the style itself: mature Islay malt with clear peat, wood and spice, supported by a lighter touch of fruit and salinity. At 47.5%, it has enough strength to carry that mature profile without making the alcohol the centre of attention.

Talisker 43y Xped Oak is a Scottish single malt from Skye with the kind of age statement that immediately changes the conversation. Matured for 43 years and bottled at cask strength, it retains a natural strength of 49.7%, rather than being shaped into a standard bottling strength.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the sort of bottle we place in the more distinctive corner of the whisky range: limited to 1,830 bottles, marked as a collector's item, and now down to the last bottles. It is a rare release by nature, but its appeal lies just as much in the way it presents an older, more concentrated side of Talisker.
The flavour direction is built around wood, spice and peat, with fruit playing a lighter supporting role and a subtle salty edge in the background. (…)Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12 is a Campbeltown single malt with a clear peated focus, yet its sweetness remains an important part of the experience. This 2025 release in the Kilkerran Peat in Progress series is bottled at cask strength, at 58.4%, keeping the whisky close to its natural intensity.
The maturation gives useful context to its style: 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks. That combination places the emphasis on sweeter, creamier tones, with the sherry influence playing a more restrained role. At eight years old, with pronounced peat and spice, it has a direct and energetic character rather than a heavily polished one.

Yamazaki Kogei Collection is a Japanese single malt shaped by sherry maturation. In the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a whisky where cask influence is clearly part of the story, supported by a profile of fruit, spice, wood and noticeable peat.
The Kogei Collection name gives this release its own identity, while the whisky itself remains the focus: a 43% single malt from Japan with a sherry-matured character and a flavour direction that does not rely on one single note. The woody and spicy elements give it structure, with fruit and peat adding further definition.
It is the combination that makes it interesting: sherry-led depth, a clear spicy side, fruit presence and a smoky dimension. For drinkers exploring Yamazaki beyond a purely (…)Thy 2017-19 (Berry Bros Nordic Casks)

With only 235 bottles filled, this is a small-scale whisky rather than a broad house style.
The multivintage character gives the bottling an extra point of interest. It brings together different vintages under the 2017-19 name and was bottled in 2022 after quarter cask maturation. That combination places the emphasis on a concentrated, individual cask-driven presentation.

Lagg Small Batch Quarter Cask is a bold Isle of Arran single malt built around the meeting point of peat and active oak. For this third internationally released Small Batch, the whisky spent six full years in 125-litre Quarter Casks, a maturation choice that gives the wood a particularly strong voice.
The casks were rebuilt from former bourbon barrels and selected by Distillery Manager Graham Omand to intensify the influence of the oak. Because of their smaller size, the whisky has closer contact with the wood, developing richness, sweetness and spice around clear notes of vanilla, butterscotch and toasted oak.

Kyrö Peat Smoke is a Finnish rye whisky with a very distinctive starting point: 100% Finnish malted rye, smoked for 24 hours with Finnish freshwater peat. The result is not just a layer of smoke, but a more earthy, moss-like peat character that stays closely connected to the rye itself.
What makes it stand out is the way the peat, wholegrain malted rye and warm spice build one coherent style.
