Planteray 3 Stars 1l (Planteray Blend)

Planteray 3 Stars is a white molasses rum built as a blend from three Caribbean regions. The name points directly to that idea: several origins brought together in a rum that stays bright, tropical and refined rather than heavy or wood-driven.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a white rum with more aromatic character than a very neutral style. The use of pot still and column distillation gives it a fruit-led base with a gentle spicy accent, while the overall impression remains clear and polished.
At 41.2% ABV, Planteray 3 Stars has enough presence to carry its notes of tropical fruit, mango, coconut, vanilla and sugarcane. Its charm lies in that exotic, lively profile without unnecessary weight.

Plantation 3 Stars White Pouche 2,8l (Planteray Blend)

Plantation 3 Stars White Pouche 2.8l is a white rum blend from Planteray, bringing together rums from three Caribbean regions. Rather than presenting white rum as something purely neutral, this bottling draws its interest from blending different origins and distillation styles, including pot still and column still rum.
The 2.8-litre pouch format adds a practical side, but the rum itself still has a clear sense of character. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as a white rum with more personality than the category sometimes suggests: tropical, fruit-driven and lightly spiced.
At 41.2% alcohol, it has enough strength to carry its flavours while remaining bright in style. A Caribbean white rum with an aromatic, exotic profile and a format that makes it (…)Planteray Guatemala Belize (Planteray Blend) Incl. Box

Planteray Guatemala Belize brings together rums from Guatemala and Belize in a fresh Central American blend. Made in a multicolumn style, it shows a fruit-led side of rum with the polished Planteray approach that sits very naturally in the Drankenshop Broekmans selection.
The maturation gives this rum much of its shape. It begins in ex-bourbon casks before travelling to south-west France for Planteray's characteristic double ageing in ex-Ferrand casks. That cognac finish adds a gentle layer of depth and wood influence, while keeping the fruity core clearly in view.
What stands out is the combination of plum, dried fruit and a subtle touch of oak, supported by honeyed, vanilla and caramel notes. It is not presented as a heavy style, but as a refined, lightly (…)Patridom XO Tawny Port Tube Incl.

Patridom XO Tawny Port is a Dominican rum with an added layer of maturation. Its foundation is firmly rooted in the Dominican Republic, where locally grown sugar cane is distilled in a multi-stage column and the rum matures fully in the country's tropical climate. For this recent limited edition, an extra period of ageing took place in selected casks in the continental climate of Pakhuis 1423 in Denmark.
That combination gives the rum a clear sense of place while adding a different finishing touch through the Tawny Port influence. The style leans toward fruit rather than oak, with red berries, cherries and dried fruit forming an important part of its identity, supported by gentle sweetness and light spice.

Dictador Parrafo Borbon 2004 18y is a Colombian rum shaped around a clearly defined vintage. Distilled in 2004 and aged for 18 years, it feels more specific than a general house-style release: this is a dated bottling with its own place in the Dictador range.
The maturation in American Oak and the 46% alcohol strength give it presence, while the available profile points away from an overtly wood-led style. Fruit is the main direction here, supported by a lighter spicy accent.
With only 293 bottles produced and the final bottles now indicated, this Dictador has a natural place at Drankenshop Broekmans for customers looking for a limited Colombian rum with age, vintage character and a clearly defined release story.

Elizabeth Yard Rum Union is very much a rum built around the idea of bringing different rum worlds together. Its base is molasses from a single estate in the Philippines, blended with high-ester rum from Ghana and a highly aromatic sugar cane juice rum from Vietnam.
That combination gives the bottle its real point of interest. It is not centred on an age statement or one single origin, but on the way molasses, sugar cane juice, pot still and column distillation can be brought into one composition. At 45.3%, it has enough presence to let its fruity and spiced side speak clearly.

Mezan Panama 2006 is a molasses-based rum from Panama, distilled in 2006 and released as part of the Mezan Vintages range. The vintage approach gives this bottle a clear point of identity: it is centred on a specific origin and distillation year rather than presented as a broad, anonymous style.
Its multicolumn distillation points to a cleaner, fruit-led expression. Although matured in bourbon cask, the supplied profile does not place wood at the forefront. Instead, the character is shaped mainly by fruit, with lighter accents of spice, sweetness and floral detail.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we would point out to someone interested in Panama through a vintage bottling. At 40% alcohol it stays approachable in strength, while the (…)New Grove Silver

The rum was aged in a Bourbon Barrel and made using pot still and column distillation. That gives this bottling a clear identity: one cask, one maturation path and a direct presentation at 57% ABV, without turning it into a routine house style.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this sits among the more characterful rum selections: limited, cask-driven and rooted in Barbados. With only the last bottles remaining, it feels very much like a defined release rather than a rum that will simply stay on the shelf year after year.

The supplied information points to a 2009 distillation and a 2022 bottling, after at least 13 years of maturation. Ageing in American oak bourbon casks gives a natural context to the caramel and wood notes found in the tasting description.
