Mother Messcia Pure Rum (Velier) Incl. Box

Mother Messcia Pure Rum is a white rum with a very particular background. It connects Haiti and Monaco through a project associated with Prince Albert II of Monaco and Luca Gargano, taking inspiration from the 17th-century Monegasque tradition of mesccia while drawing its raw character from the terroir of Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye.
It starts with Cristalline sugarcane grown in Haiti by Michel Sajous. The juice undergoes a long fermentation with native yeasts, followed by a first wood-fired distillation. The distillate then travels to Monaco for a second distillation in a Khote still, adding refinement to its sugarcane-driven profile.
In the rum selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out for the way it brings together agricultural freshness (…)Papa Rouyo Blanc Le Rejeton

Papa Rouyo Blanc Le Rejeton is a white rum from Guadeloupe made from sugar cane juice and distilled in a pot still. Its focus is very much on the distillate itself rather than on wood influence, giving it a direct and expressive cane-juice identity.
At 56% ABV, this is a firmly built white rum. The main impression is driven by fruit and spice, with lighter floral, sweet and vegetal touches adding detail around the edges. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle for drinkers who want a white rum with real presence and a clear sense of origin.
It has also become a rum that customers notice quickly when looking for something with more energy than a standard white expression. With the stock now down to the last bottles, Le Rejeton stands out as a (…)Takamaka Le Clos Series 1 2017 50cl

Takamaka Le Clos Series 1 2017 50cl
On request only
Takamaka Le Clos Series 1 2017 is the opening release in a collection dedicated to single cask rum. That immediately gives the bottle its focus: one cask, a very small outturn of 321 bottles, and a cask strength presentation at 60%. Nothing about it feels anonymous.
The rum comes from the Seychelles and is made from molasses, with sugarcane grown there forming part of its story. Pot still distillation gives it a more direct, individual style, while maturation under warm and humid conditions took its share: 27% of the original volume was lost along the way.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of rum that speaks to people who enjoy limited releases with a clear sense of origin and cask identity. Presented in a handsome box and bottled in a 50cl (…)Foursquare Veritas

Foursquare Veritas is a Barbados rum made from molasses, with its character shaped by a combination of pot still and column distillation. Rather than leaning on an age statement, it presents itself through style, structure and a clear sense of rum identity.
At 47% ABV, Veritas has enough strength to carry its spiced and fruity side with confidence. The sweeter notes remain more restrained, while light floral and vegetal accents add extra definition. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who appreciate clarity and presence over heavy wood influence.

Clairin Communal

Clairin Communal from Velier presents Haitian sugar cane juice rum in a direct and expressive way. Its interest does not come from an age statement or a strong wood influence, but from the distillate itself: pot still produced, with fruit and spice clearly shaping the profile.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we see as a good introduction to a different side of rum, away from more familiar molasses-led styles. Clairin Communal keeps the focus on Haiti, sugar cane juice and a straightforward distillation character.
Bottled at 43%, it has enough strength to show its personality without feeling heavy. Light floral and vegetal touches add detail around the fruitier and spicier core, giving the rum a clearly recognisable identity.

Clairin Le Rocher 2022
Temporarily sold out
Clairin Le Rocher 2022 is a Haitian rum with a very distinctive voice. It is made from sugar cane syrup that is brought to the boil, a method used here to preserve the characteristic aromas of the three cane varieties involved.
Its single pot still production and bottling in the Clairin style give it a fresh, vegetal and spicy profile, marked by smoky and roasted notes. Rather than leaning on oak influence, Le Rocher puts the distillate itself at the centre, with the raw aromatic side of the cane clearly in view.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who enjoy expressive, unconventional spirits. At 50% alcohol, it has enough strength to carry its spice and smoke, while still keeping that lively freshness.

Planteray Original Dark is a dark rum with a warm, generous style built around ripe fruit, gentle sweetness, spice and a clear touch of wood. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it is the kind of bottle we would point out when someone is looking for a dark rum with flavour and presence, without moving into an overly heavy or overly sweet direction.
Made from molasses and distilled using both pot still and column methods, it brings together roundness and definition. That helps explain the contrast in the glass: fruit and soft sweetness on one side, darker notes of chocolate, tobacco and roasted oak on the other.
As part of the Planteray Blend range, Original Dark keeps its character approachable. The 40% strength gives it enough structure, while caramel and vanilla add (…)Fiji 2014 10y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

It spent 10 years in bourbon barrels and was bottled at cask strength, at 56% alcohol. This is a rum with presence rather than polish for its own sake, showing a clear fruity and spicy direction with only a moderate wood influence in support.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Daily Dram release we like to highlight because it is so specific: one cask, one 2014 vintage, 285 bottles. With the last bottles now available, it has the feel of a limited snapshot rather than a standard (…)Mhoba Select White (Habitation Velier)

Distilled in 2017 and aged for three years in American Oak, it has the feel of a compact but expressive release.
The use of pot still and column distillation gives the rum an interesting balance between weight and definition. Its profile points most clearly toward fruit and spice, with oak and a light vegetal note sitting more quietly in the background. 7 Sins Rum Greed is a Belgian rum with a style that immediately feels a little different. It is made from molasses and sugar cane juice, and distilled using both pot still and column distillation. That combination gives it a broader identity than a rum built around one single production approach.
The Bourbon Cask reference gives the rum a familiar maturation setting, though the supplied flavour profile does not place wood at the centre. Fruit and spice are the main accents here, supported by a lighter sweetness. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this 50 cl bottle sits nicely among rums chosen for drinkers who enjoy discovering a less obvious Belgian take on the category.

In stockTakamaka Zepis Kreol shows a distinctly aromatic side of rum from the Seychelles. It is built on molasses rum, made in a traditional column style, then macerated with locally grown herbs from the Seychelles. That maceration gives the rum its most recognisable identity: fragrant, spice-led and still carrying a clear fruity side.
After maceration, the rum spends 60 days in ex-bourbon casks. That short maturation adds a light touch of wood without pulling attention away from the spices. Bottled at 43%, it has enough strength to keep that aromatic character vivid in the glass.
