Château Marjosse Rouge 2021 is a Bordeaux with a distinctly fresh, classic feel. It comes from Château Marjosse, Pierre Lurton's personal estate in Entre-Deux-Mers, and is produced as a Bordeaux AOC. Rather than leaning on weight or heavy extraction, the 2021 vintage shows a more precise, drinkable side of red Bordeaux.The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and a small proportion of malbec. The grapes come from clay-limestone soils, a setting that fits the wine's fresh and floral expression. The growing season in 2021 was cooler and more demanding, with harvest taking place later than in 2020, and that character comes through in the wine's brighter, more measured style.
The winemaking also points to refinement rather than force: early-morning picking, careful selection, parcel-by-parcel vinification, a short cold maceration before fermentation, and ageing partly in 400-litre barrels and partly in concrete vats on fine lees. The result is a red Bordeaux that keeps its fruit clearly in view while retaining structure and origin.

Chateau Marjosse is a French winery located in the Entre-Deux-Mers region in Bordeaux, an area known for its diverse terroirs and for producing both red and white wines. The history of the estate dates back to the 18th century, with a manor house that has been expanded and renovated several times over the years. Since 1997, Chateau Marjosse has been owned by Pierre Lurton, a well-known name in the Bordeaux wine world and also director of Chateau d'Yquem and Chateau Cheval Blanc.
