Miyagikyo Single Malt Incl. Box

Miyagikyo Single Malt is made in Japan's Miyagi prefecture, in a valley where the Hirosegawa and Nikkagawa rivers meet. Masataka Taketsuru regarded this setting as an especially fitting place for single malt whisky, with pure water, fresh air and natural humidity shaping the distillery's environment.
The house style is built around a lighter, cleaner spirit. Upward-sloping lyne arms on the stills help give Miyagikyo its elegant and fruity direction. The malt used combines lightly peated and unpeated barley, though peat never takes over the whisky's personality.
Introduced in 2016 as the successor to the former age-stated standard expression, this release quickly found its audience thanks to its aromatic precision and direct, graceful style. At Drankenshop (…)Nikka Coffey Malt Incl. Box

Nikka Coffey Malt Incl. Box
| 1 review
In stockNikka Coffey Malt is a Japanese whisky built around an unusual idea: it is made from 100% malted barley, yet distilled in a Coffey still. For that reason it is not classified as a single malt, even though malted barley is at its core. That distinction is exactly what makes it fascinating, because it shows how much the still itself can shape the personality of a whisky.
The Coffey still is central to Nikka's story. Patented by Aeneas Coffey in 1830, this continuous still was something Masataka Taketsuru learned to work with during his 1919 training under James Calder at Bo'Ness Distillery. Convinced by its advantages, he later installed two Coffey stills when building Nikka. Coffey Malt was released in 2013 as part of an ongoing search for new flavour profiles and as a way (…)Nikka From The Barrel 50cl Incl. Box

Nikka From The Barrel 50cl Incl. Box

Nikka From The Barrel is one of those Japanese whiskies that makes an impression before the bottle is even opened. Its compact, instantly recognisable bottle has become closely linked with one of the great classics of Japanese blended whisky, and the whisky itself has the same confident identity.
The blend brings together whiskies from sherry casks, bourbon casks, re-charred bourbon casks and new casks. In the hands of Nikka's Master Blender, those different cask influences are shaped into a powerful and layered whisky. At 51.4% and bottled at cask strength, it carries a real sense of concentration.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is a bottle we often reach for when someone wants Japanese whisky with more drive and depth. It has fruit, spice and intensity, but (…)Nikka Frontier 50cl Incl. Box

Nikka Frontier 50cl was created for a meaningful occasion: the 90th anniversary of Nikka. It also pays tribute to founder Masataka Taketsuru, described in the supplied information as the figure behind the Japanese whisky tradition.
The blend is built with a strong malt component, with malt whiskies making up more than 51% of the recipe. Peated malts from the historic Yoichi distillery on Hokkaido play an important role, while grain whiskies from Miyagikyo's Coffey stills bring softness and balance to the composition.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Japanese blend we would introduce to someone looking for a whisky with fruit, roundness and a gentle smoky edge. Bottling at 48% alc. and without chill filtration helps preserve the fuller texture and (…)Taketsuru Pure Malt Incl. Box

Taketsuru Pure Malt Incl. Box
| 1 review
In stockTaketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt whisky with malt character placed firmly at the centre. As a no age statement release, it speaks more through style than through a number on the label: fruit and spice form the main line, with gentle wood influence, a light saline touch and restrained peat in the background.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Japanese whisky that often interests customers looking for something composed rather than forceful. Bottled at 43%, it keeps a measured delivery while still showing enough contrast between its fruitier and spicier sides.
Its appeal lies in that sense of restraint. Taketsuru Pure Malt is not built around heavy smoke or dominant oak, but around a malt-driven Japanese whisky style where spice, fruit (…)Yoichi Single Malt Incl. Box

Yoichi Single Malt Incl. Box

Yoichi Single Malt is a Japanese single malt with a clearly defined personality. It is made at the original Nikka distillery and brings together whiskies of different ages, so the focus is less on an age statement and more on the distinctive Yoichi style.
A key part of that style comes from coal-fired pot still distillation. It gives the whisky its smoky, maritime edge while allowing the fruit to remain present. Sherry and bourbon casks add structure to that profile, supporting the interplay between fruit, gentle peat, spice and smoke.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, Yoichi Single Malt is the kind of Japanese whisky we like to introduce to customers who want something with a little more tension and depth. It has power and smoke, but it keeps enough fruit and (…)Kiyoko Yuzu Infused Aperitif

Kiyoko Yuzu Infused Aperitif
| 1 review
In stockKiyoko Yuzu Infused Aperitif is a Japanese aperitif made by combining pure yuzu juice with Junmai sake. Rather than a classic grape wine, it is a citrus-led aperitif in which the bright character of yuzu is carried by a fresh sake base.
The drink is associated with the Kansai region on Honshu. Its yuzu comes from mountainous areas in southern Japan along the Pacific, where sunlight and temperature differences are described as favourable for cultivation. The fruit is hand-picked and pressed directly after harvest to preserve freshness. The juice is pure, not made from concentrate, and no artificial aromas are mentioned.
The Junmai sake brings its own role to the blend, made with Gohyakumangoku rice and Miyamizu water from Mount Rokko. Kiyoko's toji, the master (…)Nikka Coffey Gin Incl. Box

Nikka Coffey Gin is a Japanese gin that stands out through its origin and its name. In a category often shaped by classic European references, Nikka brings a distinctly Japanese bottle to the shelf, bottled at a confident 47% alcohol.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is one of those gins that customers tend to notice and ask about. The Nikka name carries recognition, while the Coffey wording gives the bottle an extra point of interest. The appeal is clear and uncluttered: a Japanese gin with a strong identity for drinkers looking beyond the most obvious choices.
Additional information about the brand can be found at https://www.nikka.com/

Sake Hakutsuru Umeshu
In stock
Hakutsuru Umeshu shows a distinctly Japanese side of plum. Made with Japanese ume plums, it is built around a sweet yet gently tart fruit character, with ripe plum notes and a subtle impression of plum stone.
Hakutsuru is based in Kobe, in Hyogo prefecture, and is best known as a sake producer. That makes this umeshu particularly interesting: it is not a classic grape wine, but a Japanese fruit-led drink with its own role at the table. The name Hakutsuru means white crane, linked to a house whose history goes back to 1743.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we like to introduce this bottle to customers looking for something Japanese beyond sake. Serve it chilled for freshness, at room temperature for a rounder feel, or alongside creamy desserts, spicy dishes or bold, (…)Nikka Coffey Grain Incl. Box

Nikka Coffey Grain is a Japanese grain whisky with a clear sense of style: no age statement, no peat-driven profile, but a fruit-led character supported by a noticeable oak influence.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of whisky we often point to when someone wants to explore Japanese whisky through a softer, more open expression. At 45% alcohol, it has enough weight to feel complete, while staying approachable in its overall impression.
The oak cask maturation gives the whisky structure, with gentle spice playing a supporting role rather than taking over. What remains is a clean, inviting Nikka whisky where fruit and wood form the main conversation.
The flavour leans clearly toward fruit and oak, with a light touch of spice adding (…)Nikka Super Incl. Box

Mars Kasei is a Japanese blended whisky from Mars Maltage, bottled at 40%. With no age statement, the focus sits firmly on the style of the blend itself: fruit is the main thread, supported by light floral tones, gentle spice and a modest peated accent.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this has its place among Japanese whiskies for drinkers who prefer a profile that is not driven by heavy wood influence or high strength. Its appeal lies in a relatively clear composition, where the fruity side remains central and the subtler elements add shape without making the whisky feel weighty.

Bourbon cask maturation is part of the whisky's make-up, yet the overall character is not driven by heavy wood influence.

Bottled at 43% and released without an age statement, Cosmo is shaped more by its overall style than by a declared maturation age. Light floral, woody, spicy and salty touches add definition around the fruit, while peat stays out of the picture.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this sits well among Japanese whiskies for drinkers looking to explore a blended malt with a clear fruity direction and a gentle, unpeated profile.

American oak adds a gentle wood influence, supported by a light spiced edge. It does not come across from the supplied profile as a heavy or peated whisky; its appeal lies in the cleaner fruity direction, with oak playing a supporting role. At 43% alcohol, it carries a little more presence than the most basic whisky strength while staying approachable in feel.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as a good introduction to the lighter side of Japanese whisky: not driven by peat, not dominated by oak, and more about precision than weight. The 43% alcohol strength gives it enough presence, while the overall impression remains refined and approachable.
What makes Suntory Toki stand out is its quiet balance. It does not rely on heavy flavours; instead, it brings together subtle fruit, soft spice and a floral touch in a clean blended whisky style.

Akashi Meisei is a Japanese blended whisky with a distinctly fruit-led profile. Bottled at 40% and presented in a 50cl format, it carries no age statement, putting the focus on style and composition rather than on a specific maturation age.
American Oak gives the whisky a gentle woody frame, with light spice sitting behind the fruit. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this Akashi as a good example of a Japanese blend where the appeal lies in clarity rather than heaviness.
There is no emphasis here on peat or coastal salinity. Meisei is more about fruit, subtle oak and a restrained spicy accent, giving it a clean and approachable whisky character without making it feel overloaded.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this bottle among the more approachable Japanese blends: 40% alcohol, a practical 50 cl format and a flavour direction that stays refined rather than forceful.
Its profile is built around subtle fruit, mild spice and a soft touch of wood. No pronounced peat or salty element is indicated, so the focus remains on a calm, easy-going blended whisky character.

Akkeshi 2018 3y (Adelphi)
On request only
Akkeshi 2018 3y is a young Japanese single malt with a remarkably vivid personality. Distilled at Akkeshi and bottled by Adelphi, it comes from a single bourbon barrel and was released at natural cask strength: 57.7%. That gives the whisky a direct, energetic feel, very close to the individual cask it came from.
Its appeal lies in the contrast between youth and intensity. The tasting information points to a distinctly coastal style, with saline smoke, yuzu-like citrus, wild honey and damp peat alongside fresh fruit. It is not a broad, anonymous release; it is a focused single cask snapshot.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottlings like this are valued because they show a very specific side of a distillery. With only 265 bottles drawn and the final bottles now in (…)Akkeshi Blend Taisho Incl. Box

Akkeshi Blend Taisho Incl. Box

Akkeshi Blend Taisho is a Japanese blended whisky from Akkeshi's 24 Seasons series. As the eighth release in the range, it takes its inspiration from Taisho, the period of Great Heat from late July to early August, when summer reaches its most intense point.
The blend brings together grain whisky and peated Akkeshi malt, matured in bourbon and Mizunara casks. The Mizunara oak comes from the forests of Hokkaido, keeping the whisky closely tied to its northern Japanese setting. The indigo-blue label refers to the traditional colour of the summer Yukata, worn during festivals and firework evenings.
There is a strong sense of season behind this release: paulownia trees setting their first seeds, damp earth, humid air, occasional heavy rain, taiko flutes and (…)Akkeshi Daikan

Akkeshi Daikan

Akkeshi Daikan is a Japanese blended whisky with a clearly defined direction. Rather than presenting itself as a wood-led whisky, it points towards spice, salinity and a gentle peated touch, supported by lighter fruity and floral notes. At 48%, it has enough strength to carry that profile with confidence, without relying on an age statement.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, whiskies like this are interesting because they show a different side of Japanese blending. Daikan is not built around obvious cask weight; the available profile suggests a drier, more savoury style, where spice and saltiness take the lead and the softer elements remain in the background.
With the final bottles available, Akkeshi Daikan is a particularly relevant choice for drinkers who follow (…)Akkeshi Kanro

As it is also marked as a collector's item, Kanro has a distinctive place in the Japanese whisky selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, especially for customers who follow these limited releases with attention.
Its flavour profile points toward spice and fruit as the central elements, supported by lighter floral, salty and peated touches. Wood is not the main driver here, so the interest lies more in the interplay between fruit, spice (…)Akkeshi Peated Boshu

Although oak cask maturation is part of the information, this is not presented as a heavily wood-driven whisky. The emphasis lies more on spice, supported by lighter touches of fruit, floral notes, saltiness and peat. That gives Akkeshi Peated Boshu a profile that feels direct and distinctive without becoming overloaded.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a particularly engaging bottle for those exploring Japanese single malt with a more pronounced edge. With 9000 bottles released and the final bottles now in view, (…)Akkeshi Ritto Peated

Akkeshi Ritto Peated is a Japanese single malt with peat placed clearly at the centre of its identity. There is no age statement here, so the focus shifts to style, strength and cask influence rather than years in wood.
The use of Mizunara oak gives this peated whisky an additional point of interest. Its profile shows peat as the main feature, supported by lighter impressions of wood, spice, fruit and saltiness. That makes it more than a straightforward smoky whisky; the peat is framed by other elements rather than standing alone.
At 55% alcohol, Ritto Peated has a firm presence. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle for drinkers who want to explore Japanese single malt from a more powerful, smoky angle. With the last bottles now indicated, it is (…)
