Kininvie 25y First Drops is best understood as a single cask story rather than a regular Speyside release. Distilled on 4 July 1990 and bottled in 2015, it spent 25 years maturing before being filled at cask strength, preserving the direct character of the individual bourbon cask.
Only 650 bottles were produced, and the 35cl format gives this release a distinctive presence of its own. At 61.4% alcohol, it is a whisky with real cask-driven intensity, shaped by age, wood and fruit rather than by peat or coastal notes.
