Gouden Carolus Blaasveld Broek 50cl

Gouden Carolus Blaasveld Broek is a Belgian single malt whisky with a clearly peated side. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a Belgian whisky for drinkers who are drawn to smoke and structure rather than a broadly sweet or heavily fruity style.
Distilled in 2017 and matured in oak cask, it carries no age statement. That shifts the focus to its character in the glass: peat is the main feature, while wood, spice, fruit and floral notes play a lighter supporting role.
Bottled at 46% in a 50 cl format, this Gouden Carolus has a compact but expressive identity. It is a Belgian single malt where smoke and oak shape the experience, with the other elements kept more restrained.
The flavour profile is led by peat, which is more pronounced than (…)Cotswolds Peated Single Malt Incl. Box

Cotswolds Peated Single Malt Incl. Box

Cotswolds Peated Single Malt shows the bolder, smoky side of British single malt whisky. Bottled at cask strength at 59.6%, it keeps a firm and direct presence, with the kind of intensity that gives the whisky real weight in the glass.
Peat is clearly part of the identity here, though it is not the only element at play. Light touches of fruit, spice, floral character and wood sit around the smoky core, giving the whisky a broader shape than a one-dimensional peated style.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would place in front of someone looking for a powerful peated single malt without an age statement taking the spotlight. The focus is on style and strength: a cask-strength Cotswolds with smoke at its centre and enough supporting detail (…)Dl Double Barrel Islay (Douglas Laing)

Dl Double Barrel Islay (Douglas Laing)
Only 2 left in stock!
Douglas Laing Double Barrel Islay is a Scottish blended malt with a clear Islay direction. The emphasis is on peat: present and recognisable, yet the available profile does not point towards an overly heavy or extreme style. It is more about a focused expression of smoky island character.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle sits well among whiskies for customers who want to explore Islay through a blended malt rather than through a single distillery bottling. As a no age statement whisky, it draws attention to style rather than age, with peat at the centre and lighter notes of fruit, spice, wood and a gentle floral accent around it.
Bottled at 46%, it has enough strength to carry its smoky side with clarity. The result is a straightforward and recognisably (…)Holyrood Smoulder

Holyrood Smoulder

Holyrood Smoulder shows the Edinburgh distillery's experimental side in a very direct way. This Lowland single malt is not built around peat alone; it brings together different malts, yeasts and cask types to create a whisky that develops gradually in the glass.
A substantial proportion of heavily peated malt sits alongside Scotch pot still malt, Plumage Archer and brown malt. The cask make-up is led mainly by First Fill Bourbon Barrels, supported by ex-Rum Barriques and Oloroso Octaves. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Smoulder as a whisky for drinkers who enjoy seeing how composition and detail can shape the final character.
Its name is well chosen. The whisky begins with a more refined, floral and earthy side, before the smoke slowly becomes more (…)Benriach 1994 31y Shades Smoke

Benriach 1994 31y Shades Smoke

Benriach 1994 31y Shades Smoke reveals a remarkably mature side of peated Speyside single malt. Distilled in 1994 and aged for 31 years, it is shaped around finesse, texture and a graceful thread of smoke rather than sheer intensity.
Its peat is not heavy-handed. It sits softly around Benriach's fruit-driven character, with honeyed depth, candied citrus and chocolate notes giving the whisky its slow, layered feel. The release is composed from 11 carefully selected casks, giving it the sense of a whisky built for quiet attention rather than quick impressions.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would introduce as a contemplative dram: old, smoky Speyside whisky with elegance at its centre. It has clear interest for collectors, but its real (…)Bowmore 2016 10y Douglas Laing Single Minded Incl. Box

Expected: 06/11/2026Bowmore 2016 10y Douglas Laing Single Minded brings Bowmore's Islay character into clear focus. The distillery's setting on the shores of Loch Indaal and its long history are part of the background here, while Douglas Laing's Single Minded range keeps the emphasis on careful cask selection and a natural presentation.
This 10-year-old small batch was bottled at 46% from bourbon barrels, without chill filtration and without added colouring. That approach gives the whisky room to show its own shape: Bowmore's combination of fruit, gentle peat smoke and coastal influence, supported by malt and citrus rather than hidden behind heavy treatment.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a strong choice for drinkers who enjoy Islay whisky with definition and finesse. (…)Corsair Triple Smoke

Corsair Triple Smoke is an American whiskey with a name that sets the tone straight away. Smoke is the defining idea here, giving the bottle a clear identity within the American whiskey category.
Maturation in American Oak brings a modest wood influence, with lighter touches of spice and fruit around it. There is no age statement, so the focus falls more on the whiskey's style and flavour direction than on a declared maturation age.
With 600 bottles released and the last bottles now in view, Drankenshop Broekmans sees this as a particularly interesting choice for anyone drawn to a smoky take on American whiskey.
The flavour profile is clearly built around smoke. Around that main line, there are lighter impressions of wood, spice and fruit, (…)English Whisky Chapter 9 20cl

English Whisky Chapter 9 20cl

English Whisky Chapter 9 20cl is a small-format introduction to The English Whisky Co., presented as a British single malt at 46% ABV. The Chapter 9 name gives it a clear identity within the range, making it feel like a defined release rather than a generic young malt.
Distilled on 1 May 2007 and aged for 3 years, it was matured in a bourbon cask. The supplied flavour profile points to a whisky where no single element dominates: floral, fruity, spicy, woody and lightly peated notes all sit at a restrained level.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this bottle as an appealing way to explore English single malt without committing to a full-size bottle. The 20cl format keeps the discovery approachable, while the last-bottles status adds a sense that this particular (…)Benriach 2009 12y Lmdw

Benriach 2009 12y LMDW is a Speyside single malt built around the individuality of one cask. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 at 12 years old, it presents a more specific snapshot of Benriach than a regular core-range release.
The port maturation and cask strength bottling at 59.8% give this whisky a firm presence. Its profile points towards clearly expressed spice and peat, with lighter fruity, floral and woody elements around them rather than dominating the experience.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this are valued because they show whisky in a more focused form: one cask, one limited outturn, one particular interpretation. Ballechin 2014 Lmdw is a Scottish Highland single malt built around a clear peated character. It was drawn from a single Bourbon Barrel and bottled at cask strength, so the appeal here lies in the directness of one individual cask rather than a broader batch composition.
Distilled on 10 December 2014 and bottled on 23 July 2024, it spent 10 years maturing before being released at 58.4% alcohol. Only 225 bottles were produced, and with the final bottles now in focus, it has the naturally limited feel that makes a release stand out in the Drankenshop Broekmans whisky selection.

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 is a strong example of how Glengyle Distillery brings powerful peat together with the distinctive Campbeltown style. The malt is peated to around 45 ppm, yet the whisky is not simply about smoke. The oily, maritime and refined Kilkerran character remains firmly in place.
Maturation took place in 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks, giving this batch a mix of freshness, sweet malt and added depth. Bottled at cask strength at 58.3%, without chill filtration and without added colouring, it comes across as a direct and energetic expression of the Heavily Peated series.

Ardmore 2011 14y (Blackadder - Raw Cask) Incl. Box

Ardmore 2011 14y is a Highland single cask with a distinctly smoky direction. The interesting part is the meeting point: Ardmore's firm, dry Highland peat set against the influence of an ex-Laphroaig cask, described here as an Islay Finish. In the range at Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a whisky where the peat is not just present, but shaped by two different smoky identities.
Blackadder bottled it as part of the Raw Cask series at natural cask strength, 59.3% ABV, without chill filtration and without added colour. That keeps the whisky close to the cask, with a direct and energetic feel rather than a polished or softened presentation.
Distilled in 2011 and bottled in February 2026, this 14-year-old Ardmore is a clearly defined single cask release. (…)Inchfad 2016 9y Awwif (Alistair Walker - Infrequent Flyers)

Inchfad is Loch Lomond's peated style, and this 2016 bottling shows that side of the Highland distillery with real drive. Bottled by Alistair Walker for the Infrequent Flyers range, it comes from a single cask and is presented at cask strength, 58.4%. At 9 years old, it feels youthful, bold and full of energy.
The long finish of almost five years and seven months in a Virgin Oak Barrel gives this whisky its particular voice. The peat does not dominate as heavy smoke; it sits more as a soft phenolic layer beneath a sweet, wood-led generosity. That makes the whisky feel expressive and forceful, with oak influence playing a central role.

Bottled at 46%, it has matured in oak casks and carries no age statement. The focus is therefore less on a number on the label and more on the way the malt, oak influence and peat character come together in the glass.
The peat is clearly present, supported by light wood, gentle spice and a modest fruity side. That gives the whisky a defined identity without making it feel one-dimensional.

There is no age statement here, so the focus sits firmly on style rather than years in cask. The profile is built around a clear peated core, with lighter touches of fruit, spice, wood, saltiness and floral notes adding shape around it.

Glen Moray Peated Rioja shows a more exploratory side of this Speyside distillery, where traditional methods meet a willingness to work with distinctive cask influences. Distilled in 2012, this gently peated single malt first matured in ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to Rioja red wine casks.
That combination gives this Warehouse 1 release its own clear identity. The peat is presented as subtle rather than dominant, while the Rioja cask influence brings in red-fruit depth and soft tannic structure. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as a whisky for those moments when Speyside malt is allowed to step slightly outside the expected path.

This 15th edition was distilled from the 2014 and 2015 harvests and matured for at least 9 years in 54 ex-bourbon casks. It is made from the same cask recipe as the regular Sanaig release, with maturation mainly in oloroso sherry casks, but instead of being reduced with water after cask selection, it is bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.8%.
That higher strength gives the whisky a more concentrated voice. The Islay peat smoke is rich and assertive, with cinnamon sweetness, stone fruit, waves of citrus, mixed spices and dark chocolate all coming through from the sherry-led maturation.
