Valdespino Rare Spirits Malt Whisky

Valdespino Rare Spirits Malt Whisky
In stock
Valdespino Rare Spirits Malt Whisky comes with a background that immediately sets it apart. In 1955, Valdespino, then supplying sherry casks to a Scottish distillery, purchased a small selection of malt whisky to mature further in Jerez de la Frontera. That gives this whisky a direct connection to both malt whisky tradition and Valdespino's sherry heritage.
On average, it spent 12 years maturing in casks that had previously held Palo Cortado and Oloroso. Rather than feeling like a standard release, it carries the imprint of old sherry wood, time and a very specific cellar history in Jerez.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle that adds real character to a specialist whisky selection. With 3000 bottles produced and the final bottles now in (…)English Whisky Chapter 4 20cl

English Whisky Chapter 4 20cl
In stock
English Whisky Chapter 4 20cl is a concise introduction to The English Whisky Co. from Great Britain. The name places it firmly in the world of English whisky, while the New Spirit classification points towards a more immediate style rather than a heavily mature, age-stated whisky.
The most interesting detail here is the single cask origin, connected to a Bourbon Barrel. This is not a broad blend designed to smooth out every edge, but a small-format bottling tied to one individual cask. At Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this are especially useful for customers who enjoy exploring a very specific style without committing to a full bottle, and the last-bottles status adds a sense of scarcity.

| 1 review
In stockJura 12y is a Scottish single malt with a traditional foundation and a quietly distinctive twist. It spends almost ten years in American oak ex-bourbon casks, building the main body of the whisky, before moving into sherry casks for a notably long finish. Rather than a quick touch of sherry influence, Jura allows time for those flavours to settle into the whisky; two to two and a half years is not unusual here.
There is another detail that gives this whisky its shape. Jura mainly works with unpeated spirit, but this release also includes a small proportion of heavily peated spirit. The result is not a smoky whisky in the dominant sense. It is more like seasoning: a faint thread of smoke that helps the fruit, grain and spice stand out more clearly.
