Renegade Etudes New Bacolet
On request only
Renegade Etudes New Bacolet is a Grenadian rum with a clear focus on sugar cane juice, origin and distillation style. Made on a pot still, it sits firmly in the more characterful side of rum, rather than in a soft, sweet-led direction.
At 55% ABV, it has real presence. The release is limited to 6000 bottles, giving it a defined place within the Renegade Etudes range without making it feel distant or inaccessible. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to present to customers who are interested in where a spirit comes from and how it is made.
Its profile points to fruit and spice as the main themes, with lighter floral and woody accents around them. New Bacolet is therefore best understood as a firm, expressive rum built more around (…)Elizabeth Yard Sherry Cask

Elizabeth Yard Sherry Cask

Elizabeth Yard Sherry Cask is a blended rum with a deliberately layered make-up. It brings together high ester pot still rum from Ghana, aromatic sugarcane juice from Vietnam and single estate molasses from the Philippines. Rather than focusing on a single origin or one narrow style, it builds its character from contrast: tropical fruit, depth and a warm, energetic edge.
Sherry cask maturation adds a darker, richer tone to that foundation. The rum moves towards spice, ripe fruit and a creamy sense of weight, while staying away from a simple sweet profile. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of bottle that is worth taking time with, because the blend itself is part of the pleasure.
Bottled at 42.5%, it has enough strength to carry its aromatic (…)Privateer 2y Single Cask 699 Lmdw

Privateer 2y Single Cask 699 Lmdw

Privateer 2y Single Cask 699 Lmdw is an American molasses rum with a very defined identity. Rather than presenting a broad blend, it comes from one individual cask, number 699, giving the bottle a clear sense of place within Privateer's production.
The supplied information describes it as 2 years and 8 months old, fully matured in new American white oak. Pot still and column distillation are both part of the production story, while the flavour direction points towards fruit and spice, with oak playing a supporting role rather than taking over.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see a rum like this as an appealing discovery for drinkers who enjoy precise, cask-driven releases. Bottled at 55.8% and now down to the last bottles, it has the feel of a compact, focused (…)Patridom XO Oloroso Tube Incl.

Patridom XO Oloroso brings together the smooth Dominican style of the Patridom range with the added depth of an Oloroso cask finish. The rum is made from locally grown sugar cane in the Dominican Republic, distilled in a multi-column still and matured in the country's tropical climate, giving it the polished and gentle foundation associated with the series.
Its second maturation is what gives this release its own identity. Selected Oloroso casks were used for an additional ageing period in the continental climate of warehouse 1423 in Denmark. That extra stage adds darker, more layered accents to the rum, with fruit and spice taking a more prominent role while the overall impression remains soft and sweet.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Patridom (…)Mhoba American Oak Aged

Mhoba American Oak Aged

Mhoba American Oak Aged is a South African rum made from sugar cane juice and distilled in a pot still. That gives it a different starting point from many molasses-based rums, with the raw character of cane sitting closer to the heart of the spirit.
The American oak ageing is given an extra dimension through a whisky finish. With no age statement, the focus falls less on a number and more on style: fruit and spice are the main threads, supported by gentle wood influence, a light floral touch and a subtle vegetal edge.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to place in front of customers who want to explore how varied the category can be when cane juice, pot still distillation and cask influence come together. Venezuela 2005 16y (Campbeltown Whisky Company - Watt Whisky)

Venezuela 2005 16y from Watt Whisky is a rum built around precision rather than volume. It comes from Venezuela, was distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2022 after 16 years of ageing, drawn from a single bourbon barrel rather than composed as a larger blend.
Made from molasses and distilled in a traditional column style, it is bottled at cask strength at 57.1%. That gives the release a direct, unpolished feel, with the strength and cask identity left clearly in view. Only 262 bottles were filled, and with the last bottles now indicated, this has become a very small remaining parcel.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottlings like this are valued for the way they let rum drinkers focus on one specific origin, one vintage and one cask. It is a compact snapshot of (…)Haiti 2004 14y (Transcontinental Rum Line)

Haiti 2004 14y (Transcontinental Rum Line)

Haiti 2004 14y from Transcontinental Rum Line is a rum with a very specific frame: distilled in 2004, bottled in 2018 and matured for fourteen years. As a single cask release at cask strength, bottled at 63.1%, it keeps a direct and uncompromised feel.
The bourbon cask is part of the picture, but the real interest lies in the combination of Haitian origin, age and single-cask bottling. Rather than aiming for a repeated house style, this bottle represents one particular cask and one particular point in time.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for careful tasting rather than casual pouring. Its limited nature is underlined by the fact that these are the last bottles. The flavour profile points towards a clearly fruity and spiced character, with (…)Port Mourant 10y So (Elizabeth Yard With Finishes)

Port Mourant 10y So (Elizabeth Yard With Finishes)

Port Mourant 10y So is a molasses-based rum from Guyana, bottled by Elizabeth Yard as part of the with finishes series. Its identity is built around a wooden vat still distillation, a sherry cask finish and a natural cask strength bottling at 49.8%.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this stand out because they give a very direct sense of selection. This is a single cask rum, distilled on 31 August 2011 and aged for 10 years, with only 222 bottles produced. It feels focused rather than broadly composed: one cask, one finish, one limited release.
The sherry finish adds extra depth to a rum whose profile leans clearly towards fruit and spice, while the wood remains present without taking over. For anyone exploring Guyanese rum beyond the usual releases, (…)Port Mourant 2011 10y (Elizabeth Yard With Finishes)

Port Mourant 2011 10y from Elizabeth Yard is a molasses-based rum from Guyana, pot still distilled and bottled as a ten-year-old release. Its appeal lies in the directness of the bottling: one single cask, presented at cask strength, with its 53.03% ABV giving the rum a firm and unfiltered presence.
Matured in a bourbon barrel and limited to just 140 bottles, this is not a broad house style or a blended interpretation. It is a close look at one individual cask, selected and bottled with its own profile intact.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of rum that speaks to drinkers who enjoy limited, characterful releases with a clear origin and a clear structure. With only the last bottles remaining, it feels very much like a defined snapshot of (…)Uitvlugt 1998 18y Dd (The Nectar)

Matured in a bourbon cask and bottled at cask strength, 52.1%, it keeps a direct and unsoftened expression. The pot still distillation adds to the sense of a rum built around concentration, origin and the individual development of the cask.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Uitvlugt stands out as a small-scale and increasingly scarce bottling, with only 225 bottles produced and the last bottles now indicated. Its profile points toward clear fruit and spice, with wood playing a supporting role rather than taking over.

Guyana EHP 2002 21y ENM from Daily Dram is a very focused release: a molasses rum distilled in 2002 at Diamond Distillery, matured for 21 years in a bourbon barrel and bottled in 2023 by The Nectar. The wooden vat still distillation gives the rum a clear sense of origin, with the distillate itself playing an important role alongside the cask.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this sits among the rums we like to present slowly rather than simply place on a shelf. It is a single cask bottling, released at cask strength at 50.1%, with only 154 bottles drawn from that barrel. That small outturn gives it the feel of a specific snapshot in time: one distillation, one cask, one mature rum.

Hampden 2012 9y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Hampden 2012 9y is a Jamaican molasses rum bottled by The Nectar under the Daily Dram label. Its appeal lies in its focused, small-batch nature: pot still distillation, maturation in a Bourbon Barrel, a single cask release and bottling at cask strength. At 60.8% ABV, this is a rum with real presence rather than a softened standard bottling.
Distilled in 2012 and bottled in September 2021, it spent 9 years maturing before being drawn from one individual cask. Only 257 bottles were released, so this is a narrow and clearly defined edition. With the final bottles now available, it has the kind of scarcity that naturally attracts attention among rum drinkers looking for something specific.

Made in a pot still style and aged in bourbon casks, it has a well-defined frame rather than a vague, anonymous presentation. This is a rum built around a specific vintage and maturation period, with the Jamaican origin placed firmly at the centre.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Mezan sits nicely among rums for drinkers who enjoy releases with a more precise identity. With only the last bottles remaining, it has become a more limited find without losing sight of what matters most: the rum itself.
