Product info about Chateau La Dominique 2022 Magnum (1,5l)
Château La Dominique 2022 Magnum is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé with a clear sense of place. The estate lies in the north-west of Saint-Émilion, right on the edge of Pomerol, on a mix of clay-gravel, clay-limestone and sand over clay soils. The 2022 blend is led by Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon.There is a strong sense of ripeness in this vintage, but the available tasting notes also point to freshness, polished tannins and layered structure. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates, followed by 14 months of ageing in a combination of new barrels, once-used barrels and a smaller share of egg-shaped vessels, amphorae and wine globes. The oak influence adds spice, mocha, chocolate and gentle toast tones while keeping the focus firmly on fruit and shape.
The magnum bottle gives this wine a different rhythm. For the 1.5-litre format, a longer ageing curve is indicated, with a suggested optimal window around 2030 to 2048.
