Product info about Amaras Reposado
Amaras Reposado is a Mexican mezcal from Oaxaca, specifically the Tlacolula region, with a clear focus on traditional craft. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as a reposado that keeps the Espadán agave firmly in view while adding a gentler, more rounded edge through oak maturation.The mezcal is made from Espadán agave grown for eight years. Its production follows a classic artisanal route: cooking in conical stone ovens, milling with an Egyptian mill, natural fermentation in pine wood vats and distillation in copper alembics. These details matter because they shape the direct, agave-driven identity of the spirit.
After distillation, it spends at least three months in lightly toasted French and American oak barrels. The wood influence is subtle rather than dominant, adding roundness, roasted tones and structure while preserving the fresh vegetal side of Espadán.
At 37% alcohol, it is approachable enough to sip neat, yet it retains enough mezcal character to bring depth to carefully made cocktails.
