Product info about The Lost Explorer Reposado
The Lost Explorer Reposado is built around agave first. Made from 100% blue Weber agave and produced in small batches in Amatitán, in the volcanic soils of Jalisco, it is guided by Maestro Tequilero Enrique de Colsa.The production has a patient, traditional rhythm. The agaves are harvested only once fully mature, after 6 to 7 years of growth, then slowly cooked for 48 to 60 hours in traditional stone ovens before being pressed, fermented and double distilled in small batches. The Lost Explorer works without additives, using only agave, water and yeast.
Its Reposado character comes from a three-cask maturation approach: French oak casks from Château Rieussec in Sauternes, American oak Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and American oak bourbon casks. Each brings something to the final tequila, from dried fruit and nutty tones to vanilla and toasted oak, while the agave remains the centre of the spirit.
