The Lost Explorer Reposado is a Mexican tequila from Amatitán, in the volcanic soils of Jalisco. It is made from 100% blue Weber agave, harvested after 6 to 7 years of growth once fully mature. That matters here, because the agave remains the core of the tequila, even with the added depth of maturation.
Production is carried out in small batches under Maestro Tequilero Enrique de Colsa. The piñas are slowly cooked for 48 to 60 hours in traditional stone ovens, then pressed, fermented and double distilled. The Lost Explorer follows an additive-free approach, using only agave, water and yeast.
