Connetable Talbot 2022 Magnum (1,5l)
In stock
Connetable Talbot 2022 Magnum is the second wine of Château Talbot from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. It offers a way into the character of a classified Bordeaux estate, with the clarity and structure associated with the left bank, presented in a style that is closer to approachability than the estate's grand vin.
For the 2022 vintage, the blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot. The fruit comes from Château Talbot's vineyards on Médoc gravel soils. Harvesting was carried out by hand, followed by successive selections, then vinification in stainless steel tanks and full ageing in barriques.
The 1.5 litre magnum format gives this Saint-Julien a generous table presence. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it sits comfortably among (…)Chateau Talbot 2016 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau Talbot 2016 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Talbot 2016 in magnum is a classic red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien, produced by a château classified as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The vintage is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small share of Petit Verdot, giving the wine the firm Médoc structure and dark-fruited depth associated with this appellation.
The details behind the wine help explain its serious tone. The grapes came from vines averaging 51 years of age, grown on Médoc gravel soils, harvested by hand and carefully sorted before vinification in wooden vats. Maturation lasted 15 months in oak barrels, half of them new, adding a measured frame of cedar, tobacco and toast around the fruit.

Chateau Talbot 2018
On request only
Chateau Talbot 2018 is the red grand vin of Château Talbot from Saint-Julien in Bordeaux. This vintage carries extra meaning for the estate, as 2018 marked one hundred years since Désiré Cordier became owner in 1918. For the 75 cl release, that anniversary was reflected in a special screen-printed bottle.
As a 4ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, Talbot has a firmly established place in the Médoc. The 2018 blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, with the Cabernet providing structure, Merlot adding roundness and Petit Verdot contributing a spicy detail. The grapes came from gravel soils, were harvested by hand and selected carefully before vinification in wooden vats.

Château Talbot 2020 is the estate's grand vin from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. This red Bordeaux is led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot and a small proportion of petit verdot completing the blend. The result is a wine built on structure, with ripe dark fruit and the more classical Médoc accents that give it depth and seriousness.
The setting matters here. The vineyards are in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, close to the Gironde, on gravelly alluvial ridges with fine Günz gravel over a clay base. For the 2020 vintage, the grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted before vinification in wooden vats. Ageing lasted 15 months in barriques, 60% of them new.

The 2020 vintage is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. That gives the wine its classical Bordeaux frame: dark fruit, structure and a firm backbone, with Merlot adding roundness and Petit Verdot contributing a spicy accent. The fruit came from vineyards on Médoc gravel soils with a clay base, harvested by hand and selected before vinification in oak vats.

Chateau Talbot 2020 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Talbot 2020 Magnum presents a classic Saint-Julien name in a 1.5 litre format, adding a real sense of occasion to the bottle. This is the grand vin of Château Talbot, a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, produced in the Médoc region of Bordeaux.
The 2020 blend is strongly led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. That Cabernet-driven composition gives the wine its Saint-Julien shape: dark fruit, structure, freshness and a graphite-like edge. The grapes come from gravelly Saint-Julien vineyards, with an average vine age of 43 years for this vintage.
The winemaking details point to a careful, traditional approach: hand harvesting, successive sorting with (…)Chateau Talbot 2021

Château Talbot 2021 is the red grand vin of Château Talbot from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. As a 4ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it carries serious Bordeaux pedigree, yet the interest of this vintage lies particularly in its cooler, more classically shaped Saint-Julien character.
The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon at 71%, with 24% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. In 2021, careful selection was especially important: the grapes were harvested by hand, then sorted manually and optically. Fermentation took place in wooden vats, followed by 15 months in oak barrels, 60% of them new.

This is the grand vin of Château Talbot, a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, produced in the Médoc, Bordeaux. The magnum is not a separate cuvée, but the larger bottle size gives the wine a special presence, whether opened at the table or kept in the cellar.
The 2021 vintage is defined here by freshness, structure and a clearly cabernet-led identity. The blend is built around cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot and a small proportion of petit verdot. Chateau Talbot Caillou Blanc 2019 Magnum (1,5l)

Caillou Blanc 2019 is the white Bordeaux from Château Talbot, an estate far better known for its red Saint-Julien wines. That contrast is part of its charm: this bottle shows another side of Talbot, built mainly on Sauvignon Blanc with Sémillon adding aromatic depth and length.
The fruit comes from a small white vineyard in the Médoc, planted on gravelly soils. For the 2019 vintage the grapes were hand-harvested, vinified in oak barrels and aged for eight months on the lees with bâtonnage. It gives the wine a more gastronomic place at the table rather than the role of a simple aperitif.
In magnum, this 2019 has real presence. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out for customers looking for a structured white Bordeaux, especially as (…)Chateau Talbot Caillou Blanc 2020 Magnum (1,5l)

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle that stands out through its origin, vintage and format rather than through loud presentation. A white Bordeaux from the 2020 vintage, carrying the Ch Talbot name and offered as a magnum, is a very specific choice.

Château Talbot Caillou Blanc 2021 reveals a less familiar side of Saint-Julien and the Médoc. Talbot is closely associated with red Bordeaux, yet Caillou Blanc has its own story within the estate: white grape varieties are relatively unusual in the Médoc, and their return at Talbot dates back to Georges Cordier in the 1930s.
The 2021 vintage is a dry Bordeaux Blanc made from 73% Sauvignon Blanc and 27% Sémillon, grown on a dedicated 5.2-hectare section of the château's vineyard. The vines average 45 years of age and stand on Médoc gravel soils. The grapes were hand-harvested and selected in the vineyard, in keeping with the precise approach behind this white wine.

Connetable Talbot 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien and the second wine of Château Talbot. That gives it a clear identity: it comes from the same estate as a fourth Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, yet it is made from its own selection within the château. Connétable Talbot is also one of the earlier second wines of the Médoc, introduced in the 1970s.
The 2019 vintage is made from 63% merlot and 37% cabernet sauvignon. The fruit comes from vines averaging around 30 years of age on the gravel soils of Saint-Julien. The grapes were hand-harvested, carefully sorted in several stages and vinified in stainless steel before spending 15 months in barriques, 15% of them new.
