Product info about Connetable Talbot 2019
Connetable Talbot 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien and the second wine of Château Talbot. That gives it a clear identity: it comes from the same estate as a fourth Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, yet it is made from its own selection within the château. Connétable Talbot is also one of the earlier second wines of the Médoc, introduced in the 1970s.The 2019 vintage is made from 63% merlot and 37% cabernet sauvignon. The fruit comes from vines averaging around 30 years of age on the gravel soils of Saint-Julien. The grapes were hand-harvested, carefully sorted in several stages and vinified in stainless steel before spending 15 months in barriques, 15% of them new.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we like to present to customers who enjoy a classical Médoc register: fruit with definition, fresh structure, firm but integrated tannins and a measured touch of oak.
