Connetable Talbot 2019 in magnum is a red Saint-Julien from Bordeaux with a clear connection to Château Talbot. It is the estate's second wine, made with the same attention in the vineyard and selection process as the main label. For anyone who enjoys Bordeaux with structure, origin and a classic Médoc identity, this is a bottle with a strong sense of place.The 2019 vintage is made from 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on gravel soils in Saint-Julien. The grapes were hand-harvested between 19 September and 8 October and carefully sorted before vinification in stainless steel tanks. The wine then spent 15 months in oak barrels, 15% of them new.
The 1.5-litre magnum format gives the wine extra presence at the table. In the Bordeaux selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, it sits nicely among bottles for those who appreciate Saint-Julien with ageing potential, but also for serving with red meat, grilled dishes, pot-au-feu or cheeses.
