Carillon D'Angelus 2021 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Carillon d'Angelus 2021 is the second wine of Château Angelus in Saint-Emilion, yet it has a clear identity of its own. First released with the 1987 vintage, Carillon is drawn from selected Saint-Emilion parcels, and the 2021 blend is built around 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
The 2021 vintage is marked more by tension, precision and aromatic freshness than by sheer weight. It was a demanding year at the estate, with strict selection in the vineyard and lower volumes as a consequence. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this magnum stands out for customers looking for a refined Saint-Emilion with structure, freshness and a distinct vintage expression.
Maturation lasted 16 months in fine-grained French oak barriques, 60% new and 40% one-year-old. The oak is (…)Carillon D'Angelus 2022

Carillon D'Angelus 2022

Carillon d'Angelus 2022 is a red Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from Ch Angelus, made as a cuvée with its own identity within the estate. Introduced with the 1987 vintage, Carillon is based on dedicated Saint-Emilion vineyard selections rather than being presented simply as a leftover selection from the grand vin.
The 2022 season was warm and dry, yet the vintage information repeatedly points to freshness, energy and tension in the finished wine. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, giving Merlot the leading role while Cabernet Franc brings spicy, floral and fresh accents.
In the cellar, the approach was precise: stainless steel inverted truncated vats, gravity handling, extraction without pumping, maceration before and after fermentation, followed (…)Chateau Angelus 2016

Chateau Angelus 2016
On request only
Chateau Angelus 2016 is the grand vin of Château Angelus in Saint-Emilion, a dry red Bordeaux blend made from 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. For this vintage, the estate carried the Premier Grand Cru Classé A classification, placing the wine firmly among the most notable names of Saint-Emilion.
The fruit comes from the estate's vineyards on the southern slope and at the foot of the Saint-Emilion hillside, set in a natural amphitheatre close to the town. Merlot is mainly planted on the more clay-rich sections, while Cabernet Franc grows on sandy clay-limestone soils lower down the slope. That helps explain the shape of the wine: depth and density from Merlot, with the Cabernet Franc bringing tension, floral detail, spice and aromatic precision.

Chateau Angelus 2020 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Château Angélus 2020 Magnum is Saint-Émilion on a grand scale, not only because of the 1.5 litre format, but also because this is the estate's grand vin from a highly regarded 2020 vintage. The château refers to this millésime as Le Sublime, a name that reflects the importance of the release within the estate's own presentation.
The wine comes from the south-facing slope and foot of the slope in Saint-Émilion, on clay-limestone soils. Its blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc is central to its identity. The Merlot brings depth and volume, while the Cabernet Franc plays an important role in the floral lift, precision and tension described for this vintage.
Vinification is carried out by grape variety and parcel. The (…)Tempo D'Angelus 2019 Magnum (1,5l)

Tempo D'Angelus 2019 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Tempo d'Angelus 2019 is an interesting chapter in the Château Angélus range. It is not the château's Grand Vin, nor Carillon d'Angelus, but a separate cuvée in its own right, with 2019 as the first vintage. In magnum format, the wine immediately feels made for the table: generous, distinctive and with a clear story behind it.
The wine comes from the Angélus world of Saint-Émilion, while being released under the Bordeaux AOC appellation. Its blend is led by Merlot, with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from vineyards owned by Château Angélus, including plots on clay-limestone slopes with tuff and marl near Saint-Émilion. Vinification takes place in the Chai Carillon, a modern cellar created for (…)Tempo D'Angelus 2020

Tempo D'Angelus 2020 presents a different reading of Angélus. It is not a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, but a separate Bordeaux AOC cuvée made by the same team. Introduced in 2019, this 2020 release is only the second vintage, giving it a distinct place within the Angélus range.
The wine is built mainly on merlot, with cabernet franc completing the blend. Its grapes come from estate-owned parcels around Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and the Francs sector, just a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. Clay-limestone slopes, tuff, marl and cool deep soils help explain the combination of ripeness, freshness and drive in the wine.
With 18 months of barrel ageing, Tempo D'Angelus 2020 remains a Bordeaux (…)Tempo D'Angelus 2020 Magnum (1,5l)

Tempo D'Angelus 2020 is a red Bordeaux from the Château Angelus family, but it is not the estate's Grand Vin and it is not Carillon d'Angelus. It is a separate cuvée within the Angelus range, created to show the precision and style of the house in a wine that is more approachable in its younger years.
The fruit comes from Angelus-managed vineyard parcels around Castillon, only a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. For the 2020 vintage, the blend is led by merlot with cabernet franc in support. Clay-limestone slopes give the wine its fresh, linear feel, while 18 months in barrel adds structure and depth without moving it away from its Bordeaux identity.
In magnum, this 1.5 litre bottle has a generous, table-worthy presence. At Drankenshop (…)Tempo D'Angelus 2021

Tempo D'Angelus 2021 shows a younger and more immediately approachable side of Château Angélus. This red Bordeaux is made from estate-owned vineyards outside the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, around places such as Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and Francs. It carries the Angélus connection clearly, but in a cuvée designed to be enjoyed earlier than the estate's grands crus.
The 2021 blend is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc in support. Its fruit comes from cool, deep clay-limestone slopes with tuffeau and marl, sites with southern exposure that help shape a wine built around freshness, fruit and structure rather than weight.

Tempo d'Angelus 2021 is a red Bordeaux from the world of Château Angelus, made by the de Boüard de Laforest family. It is not a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, but a Bordeaux AOC created as a more approachable cuvée within the wider Angelus range.
The 2021 vintage is made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from estate-owned plots acquired from 2017 onwards for this cuvée, around Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and the Francs sector, a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. The clay-limestone slopes, with tuffeau and marl, are described by the producer as cool, deep soils with southern exposure. Tempo D'Angelus 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Château Angelus, the Saint-Émilion estate of the de Boüard de Laforest family. It is not a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, but a younger label within the Angelus range, introduced in 2019 and made from estate-owned vineyards around Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and Francs.
The 2022 vintage is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc completing the blend. Its vineyards are described as cool, deep clay-limestone sites with south-facing slopes, a background that fits the wine's reported style: red and dark fruit, freshness, fine tannins and a subtle touch of oak rather than an overly weighty expression.

Tempo D'Angelus 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Tempo d'Angelus 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Château Angélus, though it occupies its own place alongside the estate's better-known wines. It is released as Bordeaux AOC rather than Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, with fruit sourced from parcels acquired by Angélus in 2017 in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Colombe, just a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. That gives the wine a clear right-bank setting, without presenting itself as one of the grand vins of Angélus.
The 2022 blend is led by Merlot, at 90%, with 10% Cabernet Franc. That explains much of the wine's personality: ripe dark fruit and approachability from the Merlot, with Cabernet Franc adding aromatic lift and freshness. The vineyards lie on (…)Tempo D'Angelus 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Tempo d'Angelus 2022 presents a more immediately approachable side of Château Angélus. Rather than being positioned like the estate's grand Saint-Émilion wine, it is made as a Bordeaux with a younger drinking window, while still carrying the imprint of the Angélus world. The grapes come from parcels acquired in 2017 near Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and the Francs area, only a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion.
The setting is one of clay-limestone slopes with tuffeau, marl and deep, cool soils. For the 2022 vintage, the blend is listed as 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from estate-owned parcels outside Saint-Émilion, including areas around Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and Francs.
The 2023 blend is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc playing a smaller but meaningful role. That gives the wine its direction: fresh, aromatic fruit from the Merlot, supported by the darker fruit, spice and tension associated in the producer's notes with the Cabernet Franc. The 2023 blend is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc adding its own detail. The grapes come from vineyards owned by Château Angélus, a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion, around areas such as Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and Francs. Tempo d'Angelus 2023 Magnum shows another side of Château Angelus: a red Bordeaux AOC made from the estate's own parcels outside the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. The de Boüard de Laforest family introduced this wine in 2019 as part of the Angelus range, alongside the more established wines of the property.
The 2023 vintage is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc playing a smaller supporting role. The grapes come from areas including Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and Francs, on clay-limestone slopes with deep, relatively cool soils. That background fits the tasting profile described for this vintage: fresh fruit, floral detail and a more supple tannic frame.
