Product info about Tempo D'angelus 2022 Demi (37,5cl)
Tempo d'Angelus 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Château Angélus, though it occupies its own place alongside the estate's better-known wines. It is released as Bordeaux AOC rather than Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, with fruit sourced from parcels acquired by Angélus in 2017 in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Colombe, just a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. That gives the wine a clear right-bank setting, without presenting itself as one of the grand vins of Angélus.The 2022 blend is led by Merlot, at 90%, with 10% Cabernet Franc. That explains much of the wine's personality: ripe dark fruit and approachability from the Merlot, with Cabernet Franc adding aromatic lift and freshness. The vineyards lie on clay-limestone slopes, and in the warm, dry 2022 season those clay soils helped retain moisture and coolness.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Tempo d'Angelus as an engaging way to discover the Angélus approach in a more immediately enjoyable Bordeaux. It is vinified in a cellar dedicated to this cuvée within Chai Carillon in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon and matured for 18 months in barrel. The 37.5 cl demi-bottle makes it especially practical when you want to open a serious Bordeaux without committing to a full bottle.
The wine is described as approachable in its youth, yet capable of developing for several more years. Its freshness and medium to medium-full style make it a natural match for roasted duck, poultry or red meat such as flank steak. Only the last bottles of this half-bottle format remain.

About CH ANGELUS
Château Angélus is a winery from Saint-Émilion, in the Bordeaux region of France, best known for its red wines based on merlot and cabernet franc. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and has been owned by the de Boüard de Laforest family for several generations. Château Angélus belongs to the Premier Grand Cru Classé A category of Saint-Émilion, a designation granted to only a select number of estates based on strict quality criteria.
