Tempo D'Angelus 2020 is a red Bordeaux from the Château Angelus family, but it is not the estate's Grand Vin and it is not Carillon d'Angelus. It is a separate cuvée within the Angelus range, created to show the precision and style of the house in a wine that is more approachable in its younger years.The fruit comes from Angelus-managed vineyard parcels around Castillon, only a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. For the 2020 vintage, the blend is led by merlot with cabernet franc in support. Clay-limestone slopes give the wine its fresh, linear feel, while 18 months in barrel adds structure and depth without moving it away from its Bordeaux identity.
In magnum, this 1.5 litre bottle has a generous, table-worthy presence. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as an appealing way to discover the Angelus signature without stepping directly into the estate's top Saint-Émilion wines. About CH ANGELUS
Château Angélus is a winery from Saint-Émilion, in the Bordeaux region of France, best known for its red wines based on merlot and cabernet franc. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and has been owned by the de Boüard de Laforest family for several generations. Château Angélus belongs to the Premier Grand Cru Classé A category of Saint-Émilion, a designation granted to only a select number of estates based on strict quality criteria.
